I’m still here….and a belated seasonal post

Christmascard07 Yes, I’m still here….just a bit more quiet than usual online!

My boxes of the new Stampin’ Up! catalogues are here!  Please come by my open house on Wednesday, January 2nd from 7 – 9 pm to pick up your copy of the Spring-Summer Collection ’08.  All customers placing orders that evening will be entered in a draw to win the hostess benefits! RSVP required.

This is my Christmas card for this year.  Well, I should say "seasonal card" – you note that I was careful to use "Season’s Greetings"….because I figure that includes Christmas, all end of year celebrations & New Years….I’m usually a little late with my greetings, so I’m sure to cover myself.  My excuse this year is that I had to wait a very long time for D’s school pictures to come back.

Anyway…I used the Snowflake Spot stamp set (one of my faves of late, can you tell??!!), plus Many Merry Messages for the sentiment.  Glossy cardstock is my secret for making any project look professional.  It can be a bit tricky to stamp on, especially if you like to use a lot of force or rush.  I’m guilty of both of these things when I’m on a deadline!!  If you slow down a bit, and take some time, the results are well worth it.  I masked off the edges of the glossy cardstock with torn post it notes, then stamped the snowflakes in Bordering Blue & Soft Sky.  I sponged a bit of Bordering blue as well, to add some soft definition.  Removing my masks, I used Blue Bayou to stamp the larger snowflake and the greeting.  The final touch was glitter, to make it more "wow".  OK, the glitter also helps to distract from any stamping problems as well!!  (Now you know another of my secrets).  I mounted this glossy piece onto blue bayou, and then onto a whisper white card.  I also stamped the envelopes with snowflakes in blue bayou & soft sky.

Thanks for helping this year be one of the best in my rubber stamping business.  I hope that you were able to spend some time with family & friends in the past week, and send my best wishes over the internet for a happy, healthy and creative 2008!!

Linda

They’re HERE!!

My shipment has arrived!!  I have my stock of spring-summer collection catalogues 🙂

Please plan on attending my new year / new catalogue open house, Wednesday, January 2nd from 7 – 9 pm to pick up your copy of the catty!  Please RSVP so I may ensure there’s enough food etc!  (I just realized how redundant "please RSVP" is, technically.  Ah well, more politeness never hurt anyone).

I do plan on posting a couple of actual stamping samples over the next few days – really!  (I’m hoping that my pre-order from the new catalogue arrives today too – woohoo!!).

Thanks card with “bling”

Thankscardwithbling This card features the Stampin’ Up rubber stamp set So Much, and rhinestone circle brads – ice (I think!).  The design inspiration came from a card we made at the regional demonstrator training event I attended in Hamilton a few months ago.  The flowers are stamped in almost amethyst, the words are in lavender lace, and the brads & ribbon give a bit of "wow".  My hint on the ribbon – I did not fuss with it to get the knot in the perfect spot.  The white grosgrain ribbon is wrapped around the whisper white cardstock & adhered in behind with regular adhesive tape.  I then took another small length of the ribbon & tied it onto the long ribbon where I wanted it.

Thanksblingcardopen

This is the open card.

It may be difficult to see (click on the photo to see a larger version) but there are flowers along the top & bottom of the card, and "so much" in lavender  which is revealed when you open the card.

I realized that I have been a bit slack in posting new samples here, and I apologize!  I’ve been pouring my samples into the 12 weeks of Christmas emails…which wrap up NEXT week -ack!  There’s still time to get in on the fun – subscribe to my newsletter (link/box is above) – plus check out the archived mailings on the top left.

never mind….

My link to the retired accessories list doesn’t work 🙁  Instead, I’ve put up a page with the most recently updated list; items in red are no longer available.  I will endeavour to update the page daily… link is at the right, or here.
