February Scrapbook Layout

Feb-sb-layout Here's the February 2 page layout we did at Stampers & Scrappers Club this month.

We used Stampin' Up!'s Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' kit – love how EASY this makes creating coordinating pages or even entire books, since it includes cardstock, designer series paper and self-adhesive die cuts.  We also used the Big Deal Alphabet stamp set, again, makes titles easy, and the fact the the letters aren't all uniform makes it very forgiving and whimsical.  The hearts were punched with the full heart punch.  The large heart is actually the petal card Big Shot die, with two of the petals folded in to create a pocket.  You could insert a little picture or a love note here.  Obviously I have to do a bit of finishing on my copy….

In the meantime, don't forget that spring will soon be here!! (Not that you can tell from the sub-zero temps we're experiencing today in Burlington…)  My March class is on Wednesday, March 4th, and we'll be doing spring-like cards, with the hopes that the weather will soon cooperate.  See my class page for more information on all my upcoming events and for the easy payment registration!!

Sale-a-Bration sample

Sab-card Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-Bration is on now – with every qualifying purchase ($60 merchandise), you may select a SAB product for FREE!  So far, this set has proven to be the most popular amongst my customers – Polka Dot Punches.  Each of the stamps coordinates with a punch, making impressive cards and scrapbook pages a cinch!

Here, we used the heart stamp, heat embossed with gold embossing powder onto pink pirouette and baja breeze cardstocks, then punched out with the full heart punch.  Mounted onto brushed gold metallic cardstock, backed with basic black cardstock and then onto a mellow moss card.  The sentiment is from the Upsy Daisy set, again heat embossed in gold.

I'm looking forward to all my SAB workshops, and there's still space in the Crazy For Cupcakes class.  Check out the classes page – there's now Paypal links to instantly pay and confirm your spot in the class!  The personal touch reservation still applies, too – feel free to contact me by email or phone to save your spot!

Quick and Easy chocolate gift

Chocs  This is a super quick & easy way to present chocolates to a special someone!  Put the chocolates into a cello bag, seal it closed with sticky strip and add a bag topper!  This topper was created with the Big Shot Top Notes Die.  The Close to Cocoa layer was created using a folded piece of cardstock – the folded edge is placed on the die so it's not cut.  For the Candy Lane Designer Series Paper layer, I used the die with single layer, then trimmed around the score lines to make it a little smaller.  A quick stamp job – using the hugs and kisses stamp from the Love You Much set, coloured in quickly with a blender pen & pink pirouette ink, then punched with the coordinating scallop circle punch…finished off with a little white taffeta ribbon.  Room still to write a personal note, too!  Makes a handful of chocolates into a more impressive gift!
