Jan 30, 2014 | cards, Occasions
I shared a quick photo of this card on Instagram last week – a quick photo of a quick card! This clean and simple card uses Stampin’ Up!’s For the Birds set, coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers and blender pen. I used the blender pen to get a less intense, more blendable colour effect….but this set will be FANTASTIC with the new Blendabilities alcohol based markers when they are released (which is not soon enough for me….LOL). Not sure if you can see it, but there’s also a touch of embossing as well – I thought the cross stitch needlepoint look could also double as “kisses”…
If you like the look of the dry embossing but have not yet gotten the Big Shot, Stampin’ Up! has introduced a new device, the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine. It’s like a Mini Big Shot. (A Little Shot??) This lightweight, portable device is perfect for Embossing. It’s going to appear in the NEXT annual catalogue, but there is a limited supply available NOW. Please contact me if you’re interested in getting your hands on one while supplies last – at $36.95, if you add in three embossing folders and you’ll also get a free Sale-a-Bration item!
One final note – if you’re a member of my Stampers Club or a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in my “Eh” Team group, you should have received an invitation to the Beta phase of the YamStampsMore Members Only site – if you did not see it – please let me know and I will resend it.

Jan 24, 2014 | MDS, scrapbooking, Stampin' Up!
Over the Christmas holidays I had the chance to travel to London, England with my family, and visit some longtime friends. It was a WONDERFUL trip and we had a lot of fun. Something my son & I started doing on this trip was to take “selfies” of the two of us in front of various landmarks. The photos, while definitely not the most technically perfect shots, were still so perfect to capture fun moments and memories. Now that we’ve been home a bit I threw some of these selfies into a scrapbook page layout. I used Stampin’ Up!’s World Traveler Photobook Template and MDS (My Digital Software) software to whip up this layout. Love the drag and drop ease; added a bit of text, got fancy and changed out some embellishments and added some drop shadows, but was done in an instant. How fun is this? Shots are: in front of the iconic red phone booth; in front of the model of Hogwarts at the Harry Potter Studio tour; with the Paddington Bear statue in Paddington Station; in front of Big Ben; under the dome of a cathedral which will remain unnamed because I don’t think we were actually supposed to do that….;at the Globe Theatre; at the Tower of London; with the Christmas tree in the Georgian Tea Room at Harrods. These pages are a great way to recall the fun moments of our trip! Digital scrapbooking is a great way to use those digital photos. I am working on doing an entire book with this template and will get it printed to have as a share-able memento of our trip. Want to try something like this? The MDS software is available to try for FREE for 30 days – once you try it, I’m sure you’ll love it! Don’t forget to contact me if you have any questions about it!
Jan 21, 2014 | rubber stamping, Seasonal Catalogue, specials, Stampin' Up!
Well, I’m over the jetlag and recovering from my cold…and I stamped! I have to say, it was wonderful to be back in my stamp room creating (well, once I cleared a spot to do so…but that’s another story…LOL). I created this ombré card for Stampers Club last evening with the Happy Watercolour set. Love! I also have always loved washi tape, and love this Watercolour Wonder metallic version available in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue. If you are following me on Instagram, you’ll see another card we did last evening (amongst the other photos I share…LOL). If you like the ombré look – you’ll love the new product coming from Stampin’ Up!…the alcohol based markers called Blendabilities will be packaged in shades of the same colours. I’ll be holding classes exclusively featuring these markers, so be sure to be on my mailing list to be in the loop as to the schedule!!
In the meantime, there’s also a new batch of weekly sale items! Stampin’ Write markers and punches are on the list – you can never go wrong with these tools in your crafting kit!

I’ll spare you the gory details, but suffice it to say that I’m not at my best right now…in the meantime, I present to you this week’s weekly deals and will then collapse into my bed again with the hopes that tomorrow will see me healthier again. Great items in Stampin’ Up!’s Weeklyl Deals again – always love when neutrals are included – you can’t go wrong with a stash of neutral tones in your crafting collection!! Oh – and Stampin’ Up! has some new products coming out in the next while including some FANTASTIC alcohol based markers (like Copics)…stay tuned 🙂
