Getting ready for Saturday!

Garage-sale-imagesStarting to organize everything for my New Catalogue Open House / Rubber Garage Sale – this Saturday, July 3rd in Burlington!  Please contact me to get specific directions. This is the opportunity to pick up your new Stampin' Up! catalogue, browse for retired goodies and place an order.  Everyone who places an order for new catalogue items on Saturday will be entered into a draw to win the hostess benefits for the day's orders.  If you can't make it Saturday, contact me and we'll make arrangements to get you your copy of the new catalogue ASAP.

Stampin' Up! will also have a new starter kit format as of July 1st, with new content.  I'll be sure to have complete information at the Open House and will post here as well; and while the HST may be a bit of bad news elsewhere, the good news for new demonstrators is that the starter kit will be totally tax free!  (Previously, the starter kit was subject to PST).  If you are a former demonstrator, there's a "rejoin" option that is extremely inexpensive and works on the premise that you still might have some Stampin' Up! product lying around your home ;)  Contact me for more details!

Easy 3D Flower

Flower Not the kind of 3D that you need special glasses for, either!  This flower was created with punches.  I punched out about 3 scallop circles, 3 Fancy Flowers and 3 extra large scallop circles (coming in the new catalogue!!).  I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the centre of the flowers, then inserted a clear rhinestone brad.  I spritzed the punch outs with water, and folded the circles up on themselves and basically scrunched them up, then gently unfolded them a bit so they were in the shape you see them here.  I let it dry overnight, then spritzed them with some Vanilla Smooch Spritz for an extra shimmer.  This was definitely easy and fun.  It's a great element to add to decorate a box, or add to a special card that will be handed to the recipient in person.  If you need more information or instructions, leave a comment below or email me.  I will definitely be making more of these!!

Summer Scrapbook Page

Sb-page This is a quick, fun page I made the other day.  I was able to share it during a recent taping for Cogeco TV's "FYI" (not sure of the air date yet).  This page has only a bit of actual stamping (you can vaguely see "fun" in the top right corner, right?!).  I cut the circles freehand for the sun from So Saffron and More Mustard, and sponged some So Saffron on the page as well.  The water is Pacific Point (YAY this colour is back!), and I cut it into "waves" with scissors, then sponged Pacific Point along the edge.  The sand is a torn strip of Sahara Sand cardstock.  The fish is a punch creation and I couldn't resist adding a little "googly eye".  I journalled with my white gel pen to emphasize the wave shape.  I tend to be non-chronological when I scrapbook (usually because I have soooo many photos waiting to be scrapped!! LOL) and I included photos from two different years, but with the same water theme.  This is a great way to feel "caught up" with your scrapbooking, and to use some single photos that you love.

I'm offering a scrapbooking class in July – Monday, July 26th at 7pm – we'll do a two page layout with a tropical/summer theme – see my class page for details and contact me to reserve your spot!!
