Stampin' Up! has just released details about the 12 Days of Holiday Sales, which starts TODAY, Friday December 11th. The sale focuses on Big Shot Dies and Materials – and all items listed below will be available at the sale price until December 22nd. Of note – there are new Big Shot materials on sale here that have not yet appeared in a catalogue!! New colours of Decor Elements sheets so you can create your own wall and home decor! The Burlington Santa Claus parade was yesterday….I had a good viewing spot for the tail end of it – very close to the Starbucks LOL. It's definitely chillier outside these days…here's a quick way to winterize your cards… The tree trunk from the Stampin' Up! set "Season of Friendship" is stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the bird in Ruby Red on the branch. The snowflakes are stamped onto vellum cardstock in Ballet Blue, and then attached to the image with gold brads. The slight opacity of the vellum reminds me of those cold snowy days. I really like the vellum overlay technique and have used it on a number of different cards – it's really effective!

So…um…I realized that I never posted this for November, though it's been in effect since November 1st. Well, better late than never?! November's Class to Go is the Tree Trimmings Class. If you are interested in receiving full instructions for all the projects, all you have to do is place an online order here for $50 worth of merchandise. I'll email you with the step by step, illustrated project guide!
Registration for the in-person class version is now closed. If you wish to purchase the Class to Go option, please contact me. Cost is $25 and includes full instructions and precut cardstock and accessories. You supply the stamp set, ink, tools and adhesives. Not everyone is in this photo…but this is some of the group from the Mississauga Holiday Stamp a Stack yesterday. Thanks to all who could make it! We had a good time stamping, chatting and…eating.
By request, I'm once again posting the cherry pound cake recipe to share with you. Please remember that if we're ever invited to the same pot luck, stamping event, whatever, that I get first dibs on bringing this dish ROFLOL.
Cherry Pound Cake
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp almond extract (**I use vanilla since we have nut allergies in the household)
1 cup candied cherries, halved
Mix together flour & salt, remove 1/2 cup of mixture & combine with halved cherries. Set aside. Cream together butter & sugar until fluffy, add eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Add extract. Gradually add the flour mixture, then add the floured cherries. Bake in greased loaf pan at 300 degrees for 90 minutes. Cake often cracks on top.
I'm also tagging this entry so that I can find it later on when I lose the recipe card again!!

Another non-Christmas/holiday card for you… This is one of my favourite sentiments – If nothing ever changed there would be no butterflies… Designed by Andrea for our previous Stamp a Stack, it uses the Stampin Up! set Flight of the Butterfly. I love how the butterfly punch coordinates with the images in this set. I don't usually like to do a lot of "fussy cutting", so coordinating punches are right up my alley.
Off to finish up prep work for the Mississauga Holiday Stamp a Stack this weekend. One more holiday stamp a stack and then it's back to "regular" workshops and classes.
