Less than two weeks left to order from the Stampin’ Up! holiday mini catalogue! Where does the time go? Here’s a sample from a recent stampers club night, featuring It’s Snow Time and some of Stampin’ Up!’s great Blizzard wrapping paper (from the holiday mini). With 2 rolls (2 different designs) of approximately 37 square feet paper, you could wrap your gift, add an accent to your hand stamped card, and even line the envelope! Talk about coordination!!
The snowman image was stamped in stazon ink (I used jet black here, but we used timber brown on club night, goes better with the brown theme, I think!) Coloured in with stampin’ write markers, then the entire piece of cardstock was coated in versamark ink & heat embossed with iridescent ice to give an all over sparkly effect. (not sure how well it shows up in the picture, but you get the idea, I think). This technique is a great one to add a little easy pizazz to any card.
(PS Seems like some older entries were "burped up" recently – not sure what that’s about (not my fault this time!!)…..hopefully it won’t continue!! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Happy Hallowe’en!
These ornaments are my versions of the ones that we learned to make while at the Stampin’ Up! convention this year. They’re made with Stampin’ Up!’s designer series paper, which is on special during the month of November!! Purchase any 3 packages of designer series paper and receive the 4th one for FREE. This is a great time to stock up for scrapbooking! These double sided papers can also be used for 3D projects, giftable items & home decor – such as these ornaments!
Using the designer series paper "Creepy Crawly", these 3D decorations are easy peasy to whip up, especially with the help of the crop-a-dile! By changing the paper you use, you can make them to match your home decor, or according to the season, holiday or your mood…
Simply cut your 12 x 12 paper into 1" strips. The small ornament used 1" x 6" strips, the larger ornament used 1" x 12" strips. Once you’ve cut your strips, stack them up, then use the crop-a-dile to punch a large hole in either end of the stack. The crop-a-dile goes through 12 layers of the paper without an issue and without you breaking a sweat! Keep the stack of paper intact. Double up some grosgrain ribbon, feed it through one hole & tie a knot (this is the bottom) then feed the other looped end out the top (this will create a hanger). Slide the ends of the paper along the ribbon so the paper bows out, then fan out the strips to create a globe. You can make it as squashy or as ball – like as you wish! When I do these for Christmas, I’ll use the smaller ones for the tree. For the larger ones, I may do a couple with 2 sheets of paper so it’s a little more "solid" looking, though I don’t mind seeing the inside of the ornament since the designer series papers are all double sided. (The one I used happened to be black on the flip side).
Here’s a closer look at the decorations. Please leave me a comment or email me if you need more clarification on the instructions!

From now until November 3rd, you can purchase the cute set, Wishing You Cheer for 20% off ($15.96)! Please email me to take advantage of this very limited time special.
Has the Stampin’ Up! stamp set All in the Family been on your wish list? During the month of November, all purchases of this set take on special meaning. Dave Abbott, the General Manager of Stampin’ Up! Australia, recently passed away from a rare blood disorder, and next month, all proceeds from the worldwide sales of this set will go to his family. To thank you for participating in this fundraiser, if you purchase the All in the Family stamp set, I will offer you 20% off the coordinating Family Accessories stamp set. Please call or email me to take part!
There’s another promotion happening in November, and I’ll have a post about that in the next couple of days. In the meantime, it’s back to the Hallowe’en prep! (Costume is done, now for the jack-o-lantern!)

Time for another Hallowe’en card. (and yes, I spell it with the apostrophe, always have, always will)
Stampin’ Up!’s punches make this card an easy one! The spiral punch, used on both sides of a black strip of cardstock, creates the filmstrip look. I used the 1 3/8" square punch for the film windows, and, as anyone who has taken a class with me knows, I firmly believe in stamping first, THEN punching. That way, I can make sure that the image is (more or less!) centred.
The images are from the set "Batty For You", except for the "Happy Hallowe’en" cat image, which is from the Level 1 hostess set "Party Punch". The large background stamp Weathered seemed to go with the Hallowe’en theme.
In the meantime, I am going to start working on this year’s Hallowe’en costume, a ghost. It’s a repeat from a couple of years ago, but D has decided that’s what he’d like to be! Off to find all that white material…..

Well, okay, technically more like "YOU’RE" making a list!! LOL. It’s getting to that time of year again – so why not make it easier for your loved ones (and yourself!)?! Click on the link at the far left of the blog (image is the same as this one to the immediate left) to access the wish list. It is a WORD file. Complete it, and return it to me. I’ll contact the person you’ve indicated on the list in order to go over all your crafting "needs". Don’t forget that you can also request a gift certificate for merchandise or a class.
Please contact me if you have any questions!

In the Spotlight is a level 2 hostess-only set in Stampin’ Up!’s fall – winter collection ’07. [Am I the only one subjected to a bit too much Treehouse TV? Everytime I hear the name of this stamp set, I think of the children’s TV show "Timothy Goes to School"….they have "In the Spotlight" time which is like a vip day or special me day, or show & tell …. whatever they may call it at your child’s school. Anyway, I digress.]
The name aside, I love this set!! I love how I can use my Stampin’ Up! punches with it, because you may know that I don’t like fiddly time consuming cutting. This was one of the cards we did at my Stamp a Stack for World Card Making Day October 6th.
All supplies Stampin’ Up!: cardstock: purely pomegranate, whisper white & soft sky. Inks: wild wasabi, blue bayou, purely pomegranate, (yes, I am also loving those 2007-2008 "in colours"!!) so saffron. Accessories: 3/8" circle punch, 5 petal flower punch; paper piercer & silver brad.
I stamped 3 of each circle image onto scrap paper, then punched with the 3/8" circle punch (albeit some of them a little more centered than others!). Adhered these to the soft sky cardstock, and mounted onto whisper white. I quite enjoyed the fact that the white was used as the layer on this card, not as the base for the main image. Stamped the larger flower image twice, once in so saffron & once in wild wasabi, then used the 5 petal punch to make a perfect cut out. Love it!! Fast & easy. Used my paper piercer to create a hole & then fastened them together with a silver brad. Mounted onto a purely pomegranate card which was randomly stamped with another image from the set (perhaps I could have been a bit more generous with the stamping there, ah well, that will be for the next time I recreate this card!).
Don’t forget to sign up for my e-newsletter – there’s still 10 of the 12 weeks of Holiday ideas to come your way!!

This is one of those stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue that I saw and _loved_ right away. Of course, I needed to have both the sets – one set is the alphabet, the other is definitions. They can stand alone, but I think they’re fabulous paired together!
This is a smaller, square-ish card that uses a couple of my "fall back" colours. I will often turn to the pale plum / perfect plum because I think they look great together… The Stampin’ Up! Colour Coach (colour wheel) shows that they’re versions of the same colour so good for a monochromatic scheme.
Anyhoooo… I stamped 2 of the flowers from Polka Dots & Petals (a "go to" set for me) randomly on the pale plum card, stamping the outline flower using craft ink, which I then embossed with iridescent ice. On the main image, I stamped the letters in pale plum classic ink, and stamped the definition in perfect plum craft ink, which was also embossed with iridescent ice. Mounted this onto some perfect plum, but needed something "extra", so I dyed my small pretties flower using an aqua painter & pale plum classic refill ink. Added the clear rhinestone brad from the pretties kit and I was done!
Happy Thanksgiving! (or, Happy Columbus Day if you’re in the states reading this!!). Don’t forget that _today_ is actually the final day for the Simply Sent 20% off sale….I had a big brain fart (or, if I use my "mom" voice/language, a big brain "toot") earlier when I posted the final date for this sale (incorrectly) – I’ve since corrected it.
