FOUND!

Did you know that a hamster can climb 2 flights of stairs?  Neither did I until this evening.  I am extremely happy & relieved to report that Pikachu Climber (that’s really what Dylan had named him, who knew how appropriate the last name would be) is back in his (I think it’s a "he") OLD cage – the wire one that I didn’t like because the bedding tended to fall out onto the floor when he pushed it around.  However, bedding on the floor is much preferable than hamster on the floor, when given a choice.  If only he knew – by escaping, he gave up the funky plastic condo and moved back to the starter wire cage home.  (insert victorious/vindictive "HA" here)  OK off to get some sleep now!!  (Obviously didn’t get much work done tonight…promise to post some creative stuff over the weekend….)

If I’m quiet online for a bit….

It’s because I’m looking for a HAMSTER.  Pikachu aka Houdini has escaped from his cage (AGAIN) – some kind of Herculian strength to knock out components of his plastic cage and escape.  Last time we found him in minutes of the search starting.  This time…….wish us luck.  (or should I say wish ME luck).  Dylan isn’t horribly broken up about the disappearance….yet.  Off again for the search.  We have the trail of food out….

Canadian Congrats Card

Just found out that a friend became an "official" Canadian this past week, so we’re celebrating on Saturday.  Here’s the card I created to commemorate the event.  It fits in SU’s large long envelopes & will hold Tim Horton’s coupons, a fitting Canadian gift, I thought…  I used Headline Alpha to create the "Congrats", the maple leaf from the Autumn set, and "eh" is in Brushstroke Alpha.  Used the colours of real red & whisper white, of course, and threw in a bit of basic black for contrast.  Hodgepodge hardware as a small decorative accent.

It’s a snow day here today!  I’ll be spending the AM doing paperwork (the non-fun kind of paperwork) and seeing if I can head out this afternoon to do a couple of visits for my "other" job (physio), when hopefully the ploughs and salters have been able to get a handle on things out there.  I figured if it’s bad enough to keep the kids home from school, what the heck am I doing trying to drive around to people’s homes??!!

Keep warm!

snowed in….

Lots of light fluffy stuff dropped onto Burlington today…so our afternoon & evening events were cancelled – Dylan’s piano lesson, my choir practice…  Had a good mail day – received my new Paper Crafts & Simple Scrapbooks magazines.  I’ve decided I should have a creative mantra (as Ali Edwards advocates!) – she calls it a Personal Creative Manifesto.  Mine should be…I will "Just do it" and not just read about it!!  I love all the creativity I see in the mags and find it inspiring, but as many of you will know….I haven’t got a lot to show for it.  Well, I do have cards etc from classes that I’m doing….but also have a pile of photos just waiting to be scrapped!  (Disneyworld, how "scrappable" is that?!)  So.  I’m going to set aside some time each week to just "play" with all my stamping tools and see what happens!!  I’ve put it out into cyberspace, so there it is.  Now I’m off to do some creative paper work – have some cards I need to come up with, personally and professionally.  I’ll try to post the results later!

Lovely Class of Lovely Cards

 Like_no_udder_3

This week was the "Lovely Cards" class in Burlington & Hamilton – creating cards for family & friends.  I had a fun time with the creative ladies that attended!  I’ve uploaded some of the cards into the Valentine’s Day photo album (link at *edited* right *I also am trying to figure out why that particular pic shows up with the link, it’s kind of goofy looking!).  I’m trying to figure out how to upload the booklet type card we created out of the pocket note cards (once I do, you’ll see the results!).  I now have some Valentine’s cards done for my own use!  You know the saying about the cobbler’s children having no shoes….unfortunately I’m often the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator running around at the last moment creating cards for personal use (!) – so I’m laughing now!  Hmmmm maybe we should do a birthday card class soon…..   If you’re interested in my classes please check out the link at the left or click on the flyer on the right.  Remember, if you can’t make it on that date, get a group of friends together & I’ll come to you!!  Less than 18 days left to "sell-a-brate"…..have you gotten your free stamps yet??

Talk to you soon

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Scan0001It’s February already…..tomorrow’s Groundhog Day so we’ll see what Wiarton Willie has to say about the weather…  This is my opinion of the weather to date!!

Think I’ll do some stamping to help me keep warm.  Maybe some heat embossing will help the stamping room warm up a bit?!

Here goes….

I have entered (rather tentatively) the world of blogging….so here goes….wish me luck.  My aim is to update at least once a week, though I imagine in the beginning there may be more going on behind the scenes than is visible?!
