I recently attended Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership Conference in Palm Springs, California – so the sentiment on the inside of the card rings true for me! "Time spent with friends is time well spent". I had a great time seeing friends and catching up, meeting new friends and getting to know old friends better. This card uses Apricot Appeal as the base, with a strip of Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper. The stamp set is Time Well Spent, a level 3 hostess set that was a gift from Shelli Gardner, co-founder & CEO of Stampin’ Up! to all Demonstrators! I stamped the images in Stazon Jet Black onto Stampin’ Up!’s watercolour paper. The images were watercoloured with the aquapainter and classic ink. Last but not least, I used a build-a-brad in the centre of the flower. The colours used on the image were pulled from the designer series paper (a no-brainer for colour combos – copy!!) – purely pomegranate, bashful blue & apricot appeal. We did this card at Stampers Club the other evening; good to get together with those friends as well!
Just a reminder that I’m having an Opportunity Night this Wednesday. Please RSVP if you are able to attend – you’ll have the chance to find out more about what’s involved in being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.

This is a rather "iffy" photo of my attempt at watercolouring. My friend and fellow demonstrator, Mo Dickie, invited me to a watercolouring class, offered by her friend Lia. We used the chef from the Voila set (yet another set onto my wish list, *sigh*). Using stampin’ write markers on the image, we went over it with our aquapainters to blend the colour. My key points to remember? Work in a small area at one time, and don’t be afraid to go back later to build up the colour more. I did the shadow a second time to help "pop" the chef a little more. Thanks again Lia & Mo for a fun class!

A quick & easy card using the Stampin’ Up! level 2 hostess "set" Spring Solitude Bundle. This bundle, available to hostesses with workshop sales of $450 or above, consists of a 6 piece stamp set and a stampin’ around wheel!
This is the make & take from my Spring-Summer Collection open house last week. It uses my favourite "fall back" colours (because I can always rely on them!) – mellow moss, perfect plum and pale plum. I added a touch of moss gingham ribbon as well. Congrats to Isabell, who won the hostess benefits for orders placed at the Open House!
I still have some January openings for workshops, so if you’re interested, please contact me to set a date!

Yes, I’m still here….just a bit more quiet than usual online!
My boxes of the new Stampin’ Up! catalogues are here! Please come by my open house on Wednesday, January 2nd from 7 – 9 pm to pick up your copy of the Spring-Summer Collection ’08. All customers placing orders that evening will be entered in a draw to win the hostess benefits! RSVP required.
This is my Christmas card for this year. Well, I should say "seasonal card" – you note that I was careful to use "Season’s Greetings"….because I figure that includes Christmas, all end of year celebrations & New Years….I’m usually a little late with my greetings, so I’m sure to cover myself. My excuse this year is that I had to wait a very long time for D’s school pictures to come back.
Anyway…I used the Snowflake Spot stamp set (one of my faves of late, can you tell??!!), plus Many Merry Messages for the sentiment. Glossy cardstock is my secret for making any project look professional. It can be a bit tricky to stamp on, especially if you like to use a lot of force or rush. I’m guilty of both of these things when I’m on a deadline!! If you slow down a bit, and take some time, the results are well worth it. I masked off the edges of the glossy cardstock with torn post it notes, then stamped the snowflakes in Bordering Blue & Soft Sky. I sponged a bit of Bordering blue as well, to add some soft definition. Removing my masks, I used Blue Bayou to stamp the larger snowflake and the greeting. The final touch was glitter, to make it more "wow". OK, the glitter also helps to distract from any stamping problems as well!! (Now you know another of my secrets). I mounted this glossy piece onto blue bayou, and then onto a whisper white card. I also stamped the envelopes with snowflakes in blue bayou & soft sky.
Thanks for helping this year be one of the best in my rubber stamping business. I hope that you were able to spend some time with family & friends in the past week, and send my best wishes over the internet for a happy, healthy and creative 2008!!
Linda

This card features the Stampin’ Up rubber stamp set So Much, and rhinestone circle brads – ice (I think!). The design inspiration came from a card we made at the regional demonstrator training event I attended in Hamilton a few months ago. The flowers are stamped in almost amethyst, the words are in lavender lace, and the brads & ribbon give a bit of "wow". My hint on the ribbon – I did not fuss with it to get the knot in the perfect spot. The white grosgrain ribbon is wrapped around the whisper white cardstock & adhered in behind with regular adhesive tape. I then took another small length of the ribbon & tied it onto the long ribbon where I wanted it.
This is the open card.
It may be difficult to see (click on the photo to see a larger version) but there are flowers along the top & bottom of the card, and "so much" in lavender which is revealed when you open the card.
I realized that I have been a bit slack in posting new samples here, and I apologize! I’ve been pouring my samples into the 12 weeks of Christmas emails…which wrap up NEXT week -ack! There’s still time to get in on the fun – subscribe to my newsletter (link/box is above) – plus check out the archived mailings on the top left.

Less than two weeks left to order from the Stampin’ Up! holiday mini catalogue! Where does the time go? Here’s a sample from a recent stampers club night, featuring It’s Snow Time and some of Stampin’ Up!’s great Blizzard wrapping paper (from the holiday mini). With 2 rolls (2 different designs) of approximately 37 square feet paper, you could wrap your gift, add an accent to your hand stamped card, and even line the envelope! Talk about coordination!!
The snowman image was stamped in stazon ink (I used jet black here, but we used timber brown on club night, goes better with the brown theme, I think!) Coloured in with stampin’ write markers, then the entire piece of cardstock was coated in versamark ink & heat embossed with iridescent ice to give an all over sparkly effect. (not sure how well it shows up in the picture, but you get the idea, I think). This technique is a great one to add a little easy pizazz to any card.
(PS Seems like some older entries were "burped up" recently – not sure what that’s about (not my fault this time!!)…..hopefully it won’t continue!! Sorry for the inconvenience.
