Lest We Forget

DspoppylogoTaking a moment to reflect and be grateful on this Remembrance Day 11-11-11.

I was fortunate as a teenager to be able to travel to Europe with the Burlington Teen Tour Band to participate in the 40th Anniversary of D-Day.  To stand on the beaches and in the graveyards there made a huge impact on me.  One of the things I remember most is that we were the same age as many of the fallen in the graveyard – nothing like a little check of how fortunate we are because of what they did.

Lest We Forget.

Beats to Beat Cancer – Go Steve Go!!!!

I have to share this link with you.  A friend of mine, Steve Gaul, is in the midst of a world record attempt at marathon drumming!  The current record is 120 hours, so Steve is aiming for 121, and as I type this, he is at hour 104.  Absolutely AMAZING.  His efforts are not just for the record, though – he's also raising funds for cancer research.  Steve himself is a cancer survivor, and his current effort is dedicated to the memory of his beautiful sister Toni, who passed away after a long battle with cancer just last year.

You can read more about it here: http://www.beatstobeatcancer.com/

You can watch the live feed here: http://www2.thescore.com/video/drumathon-player.aspx

Most importantly, you can donate to Steve's efforts for the Canadian Cancer Society here: http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?px=3644211&fr_id=9750&pg=personal

Go Steve Go!!!!!

The Best Laid Plans…..

LOL.  So I was challenged to post on my blog every day for a month.  The challenge started Thursday.  I was out by Friday….yes, that's right, I lasted one day….but I was distracted – that's my excuse! Besides preparing for my New Catalogue Open House & Rubber Garage Sale on the Saturday, I was headed to Toronto to see Hugh Jackman (yes, THAT Hugh Jackman) in concert – an early birthday present for my mother, and darn it all, the sacrifices we make for family, I went along with her.  The concert was fantastic!  Such a multi-talented guy – sings, dances, acts, and not hard to look at LOL.  We had great seats as well – close enough that I'm SURE he looked at me during the show…. and then he waved at me afterwards.  Here's proof…

ROFLOL!!! (but that really is him…)  Reminder to self: always carry camera because you never know when you'll want a half decent photo!! The iphone camera is okay…but obviously not up to certain challenges.

Thanks to all who were able to make it to my Open House – it was a frenzy of activity at the start!  If you weren't able to attend but want your copy of the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue, contact me to make arrangements to get it into your hands!

SIB_b1Promotion_LP_NA

Sad that Sale-a-Bration is over?  (Me too!) Have no fear, though, Stampin' Up! has some promotions to make April special as well.

First up – a sneak peek!  During the month of April, you can earn the Four Frames stamp set and Paisley Petals designer series paper available in the upcoming Idea Book & Catalogue.  You may purchase these items with any $25 merchandise order, or if you host a workshop with sales of $460 or more, you'll earn them for free!  Click here to see the items and for more information.

In my online store, you'll find the Clearance Rack has a few new items – there's three different grab bags available!  These bags contain retired Stampin' Up! product up to four times the value of the bag price – and are only available while supplies last…so don't wait too long!

Spring has sprung and it's a great time to get creative – contact me to book your workshop or reserve your spot in one of my upcoming classes!
