Stampin’ Up!’s Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies make a fun combination with the Happy Scenes set (discounted in a bundle!) – and you can match the scene to the season! This scene was coloured with Stampin’ Write markers and a wash with the aquapainters in the sky & ground, but I was a little too delicate with my background colouring so it’s a bit washed out here, but the leaves (and wind!) match the scene outside my window today. (oh, and Room With a View is one of my favourite films ever, so I love that I can use that in a blog post title!)
A heads up that if you have a lot of stamp sets on your wish list, you will want to have your list ready for MONDAY….because we just found out that Stampin’ Up! is going to be having a limited time discount on stamps! More details here on Monday as soon as I get the details. Great news for Stampers Club members as we get together on Monday so extra bang for the buck! In the meantime, check your wish list and GO JAYS GO!!!
Here are the latest Stampin’ Up! Canada Weekly Deals – special prices in limited amounts. I love those metal rimmed pearls! So classy. Great embellishments for your holiday crafting. You can go to YamStamps Online Store to place your order or contact me if you need help doing so, or have any questions.
I hope that you had a wonderful Canadian Thanksgiving yesterday! It was gorgeous weather. I went along with the Burlington Teen Tour Band to the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest parade – it was an early start to the day but we were home by noon! Plenty of time to relax, watch baseball (Go Jays!) and eat leftover turkey.
A last reminder that there’s a November Christmas Card Class, plus I’ve added a Stamp a Stack of Christmas Cards at the end of November as well – no excuse not to have a few handmade cards on hand for those special people in your life!! See the YamStamps Events page for more information and registration links. I look forward to seeing you in class!
Here in Canada it’s Thanksgiving, so I’m sharing this appropriate autumn card with you! It uses the Stampin’ Up! bundle Among the Branches, which includes the Among the Branches stamp set and the Woodland Embossing Folder. You may have noticed this card on the table during my appearance on Morning Live – I made it really quickly the evening before! After embossing the cardstock, I used a sponge dauber to run Early Espresso ink over the tree trunks, and stamped on just a few leaves. Stamping negative impression sentiments onto coloured cardstock can add an extra layer of colour to your projects, rather than just stamping on Very Vanilla or Whisper White – not that there’s anything wrong with that, but sometimes it’s nice to do something a little different. A little gold thread and it’s done!
I hope that you are able to spend some time with friends and family over the long weekend. I plan on enjoying dinner with family and taking some time to reflect on my many blessings. Happy Thanksgiving!
Now is a great time to try Paper Pumpkin! If you sign up by October 10th, you’ll get the October paper crafting kit (which comes in a special pink box!) PLUS Stampin’ Up! will make a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. If you sign up through me, I will make a donation for each of MY Paper Pumpkin subscribers, so you can be responsible for DOUBLE the donation dollars.
I signed up for Paper Pumpkin after I realized I also subscribed to a similar thing for makeup (Ipsy), which I started just as a fun treat for myself. Then I realized, DUH….why wouldn’t I do the same thing for my crafting? Each month I get an exclusive photopolymer stamp set plus all the supplies to make a fun project – often it’s cards, but can also be packaging and gift items. It’s a perfect size to take with me when I travel or go to a crafting event/crop.
