If you're a fan of my Yamstamps Facebook Page you'll have seen the update I posted – I'm going to be on CH Morning Live tomorrow morning (Monday, July 4th) at 8:10 am (approximately!). I'll be sharing some craft ideas for you to do with the kids in your life.

Here's a sneak peek at a mini book I'm planning on sharing – I'll show the rest of it tomorrow, and if by chance we run out of time before I get to show how it's made, I'll be sure to create a video to share!

Wouldn't this make a great Father's Day gift? That's what I'm thinking…. I created this scrapbook page using the Strength & Hope digital set. For each digital or rubber stamp set that is purchased, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It's a win-win in my book!
I will be sharing this project and others on CH Morning Live, tomorrow – Tuesday, June 7th around 8:10 am so please tune in! I have my trusty technician Tom on the job, so will hopefully also be able to upload video of the appearance as well.

So, I'm going to let you in on a little secret…I try really hard to be organized, but it can be really challenging for me. Especially in my stamp room.
I was coming up with ideas and samples for my May email newsletter (click here to sign up) and I thought I'd create a decorated journal. I love having these books around to write things down – thoughts, memories, "to do" lists…you name it. Anyway, I grabbed supplies that caught my eye….one of which was the designer series paper used on the front of this journal. Created my main image using the Just Believe stamp set; added the Victoria 5/8" crochet trim and a vintage brad and added it to the front of the journal. Love it.
When I went to catalogue all the supplies I used on the journal…I discovered that the Designer Series Paper I used isn't in the current catalogue! DOH. If you're wondering, Woodland Walk or the digital download of Urban Garden have similar colours and themes though. I think I should spend some of this long weekend putting away retired items….I'll add them to the pile of things for my annual "Rubber Garage Sale"!!

One of the fun things about Stampin' Up!'s Simply Adorned charms is how quickly you can turn out a mini art piece!
This is the 1" x 1-1/4" beveled glass front charm, suitable for a necklace (a bit on the big side for a bracelet!) I used a scrap of the Brushed Metallic Silver cardstock for the inset. I first stamped CREATE and the images (in the corners) from the Charming set in classic inks, and set aside to dry for a few seconds while I found my Embossing Buddy. I then used the Embossing Buddy on the cardstock to ensure that my silver embossing powder would only stick to the script that I stamped in Versamark ink. (Ummm ask me how I figured I should do that…this was my second try at the charm!!! LOL) Once heat embossed, I got a lovely dimensional feel to the charm. I cut the scrap to size (literally 1" x 1-1/4" exactly) and then added an extra small Paper Daisy. I had used the Versamarker to apply a dot in the centre & heat embossed with silver EP to give the flower more definition without adding bulk. Then I simply popped my mini work of art into the charm and I was done – easy to change out whenever I choose! If you have any questions about the Simply Adorned line, please feel free to contact me.

One of the latest offerings from Stampin' Up! is patterned fabric. For sewers and quilters, many possibilities for these products spring to mind, I'm sure. For non-sewers (of which, sadly, I seem to have become one, as my sewing machine gathers dust in the corner…), you may wonder what you could use the fabric for. This fun floral accent was created using the Fun Flowers Bigz Die with the Big Shot and the Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric. The flowers were die cut, then spray starched & ironed, but while warm, were scrunched a bit. The flowers then get stacked together as desired, and stitched or glued together, with a Vintage Floral Adornment glued to the centre as a finishing touch. These could be used for papercrafting, home decor or fashion accents. Non-sewers and sewers alike can enjoy the possibilities with Stampin' Up!'s designer fabrics! (Who knows, maybe the non-sewers amongst us will be inspired to pull out that needle and thread?!)

Happy Valentine's Day! Today's Sweet Treat uses a Sweet Treat cup! I found these great candy hearts, so featured them in the see through Treat Cup. I used the heart image from the Sweet Centers set, and punched out the centre of the heart with the 1-3/4" circle punch so I could insert the filled Sweet Treat Cup.
I hope these Sweet Treats have helped you ramp up your presentation! These easy to come by treats are made so much more impressive when you put just a bit of time & effort into the packaging – and the recipient will definitely notice!!!
Last call for registrations for the Birthday Class this Wednesday – remember, as always, if you are unable to attend a scheduled class, consider getting a group of friends together, and I'll come to you!!
