I'm getting set to run out the door….well okay, not run, but hobble (more on that later) for my appearance on CH Morning Live today. I'm sharing a number of ideas that you can make for Mother's Day – and this was my favourite that I came up with – a photo bouquet of flowers that need no watering! I'm planning on showing how to make this today, so if something happens with timing and I don't get the details in, I'll be sure to share it here on my www.yamstamps.com blog later on.
Regarding the hobbling – well, I'm moving a little more slowly today as I finished my second marathon yesterday! Happy to complete the Mississauga Marathon and beat my time from my first marathon last year (albeit on a totally different course…).
Thanks for stopping by the site. Please be sure to check back – and so you don't miss out on anything, sign up for my newsletter at the top left of this site! (Or try clicking here)
Mar 20, 2012 | 3D samples, cards, Sale-A-Bration
I love Stampin' Up!'s new diagonal Simply Scored plate! It was used here to create the envelope for the 3 x 3 card. When you order the plate to go with your Simply Scored tool, there are instructions and dimensions to create a number of envelopes. The Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper gave me the starting point for the colours I used in the card that features the Elementary Elegance Stamp set – Lucky Limeade and Pool Party. Ruffled ribbon adds a fun touch and the mini clothespins are so cute!
The countdown is on to the end of Sale-a-Bration – both the Designer Series Paper and the stamp set are exclusive Sale-a-Bration items – you can only get these until the end of March! With every $60 in merchandise order, you may select one free Sale-a-Bration item, so don't miss out! Contact me if you need more information.
Feb 14, 2012 | 3D samples, Big Shot, Occasions
This box is so cute – and it's the perfect size for a sweet treat for your Valentine. I used the Big Shot and the Bitty Box and Envelope Bigz XL Die. The heart uses the full heart punch and Red Glimmer Paper. On the Whisper White cardstock I used the heart strip from the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set Outlined Occasions, and you can select this as a free item with every $60 merchandise order.
I loved how easy this was to create!
Here's the inside of the box:

I used the Small Heart punch with the Red Glimmer paper; stamp is from the same set, and I coloured it in using my blender pen, picking up Cherry Cobbler ink from the inside of the ink pad lid. I like using the blender pen for tone on tone colouring because the shade matches but you can still see the outlined image. Two Ghirardelli chocolate squares fit perfectly inside. A sweet treat!
Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks once again to everyone at CH Morning Live for welcoming me onto the show this morning – a nice (albeit early LOL) way to start the new year!
I thought I'd share the instructions to re-create the post-it note holder I showed at the end of my segment.
1) Cut your cardstock to 3.25" x 8" (this is for a 3" x 3" sized post it). We used Certainly Celery cardstock
2) Score the cardstock at .5", 4.25" and 4.5"
3) Stamp as desired. We used images from Stampin' Up!'s Circle Circus this morning, in Old Olive classic ink.
4) Fold along your score lines, and staple near the fold at the bottom
5) Stick a portion of post-it notes inside the matchbook folder and close the top fold. You're done!
That's how easy it is :) If only being organized and remembering things was THIS easy!! LOL.
If you have any questions about the projects or products I showed this morning, please feel free to contact me. I hope to have a copy of the video uploaded by the end of the week, in case you missed it, so please bookmark www.yamstamps.com and come back to visit!

This is a Hallowe'en version of an easy home decor element. By switching out the DSP, you can make the decoration suit whatever occasion you wish! I have a video tutorial on how to create this at my yamstamps facebook fan page. All you have to do is click "like" on the page, then follow the instructions to view the video!
A hint – if you have a repeating design like this paper – if you keep the strips stacked in the order that you cut them, the pattern will be (more or less!) intact when you finish your project!
Hope you all have a safe and fun Hallowe'en! Fingers crossed it's not too cold out there tonight for trick or treating!

Here's another shot of the mini book that I'm sharing today on CH Morning Live. It's really quite easy and is a fun way to save some memorabilia, photos and memories from summer vacation.
If this is the first time you're visiting www.yamstamps.com, welcome! Please sign up for my July email newsletter which is being published tomorrow, Tuesday, July 5th.
I hope you had a great long weekend, and a Happy Canada Day….and if you're in the US, Happy Independence Day! I'll be sharing more projects from today's TV appearance in the next few days, so please be sure to come back to see them!
