Thank you for stopping by the YamStamps site. I hope that you are able to spend time today in a way that is meaningful and important to you.
It’s been one of those years where I feel like I’ve been playing catch up or keep up the whole time. The statutory holidays give me a few days off in a row, and I’m looking forward to spending time resting and recharging, as well as catching up with family. I may, of course, throw a little crafting in there as well!
I hope that you have a wonderful day. Merry Christmas!
Grab this retiring Die set so you can create your own Handcrafted Elements Card!
I was late to find the Handcrafted Elements Dies in the September – December Mini Catalogue, and they’ll be retiring on 3 January 2024 – so don’t miss out! They’re discounted as part of the Last Chance Sale too!
Here’s one of my Handcrafted Elements Cards…
I love that the dies work with each other to create a more complex image (without ME having to do all the work!). To make this handcrafted elements card even easier, I added some Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Gold Foil sheet before die cutting. The top die is a lot more detailed and has thinner pieces, so with me and my usually messy adhesive application, it was sure to end up everywhere – so the adhesive sheet is a perfect way to adhere it quickly and neatly! I did end up using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Mossy Meadow die cut to the cardfront, though, focusing the dots of glue on the wider parts of the die cut.
To keep the colour scheme simple, I added the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed in gold. Texture from the crosshatch design of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders (my current “go to” for easy backgrounds) makes the Very Vanilla backdrop a little more interesting.
The Handcrafted Elements Dies also have a floral themed tag, an ornament and a star – so it’s a great multipurpose set to have on hand – and it’s 10% off while supplies last / until 3 January 2024. Add these dies to your crafting stash so you can make your own handcrafted elements cards for all occasions!
Using the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder to make a quick card!
Have you tried any of Stampin’ Up!’s Hybrid Embossing Folders? We used theStars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder (includes the Embossing Folder and coordinating Dies) to create a quick and easy holiday-ish card during Stampers Club this month.
I love that with a Hybrid Embossing Folder you can die cut and emboss at the same time! The die that cuts out the large star actually also cuts out the two smaller stars on either side. Since we were using this on a cardfront, I chose to add a layer with one of the sheets from the Silver Foil Specialty Pack, and only emboss/die cut the large star. I embossed the Starry Sky Cardstock like regular, and then used a smaller piece of Silver Foil and positioned it over the largest star, along with the die. Ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and ended up with a silver embossed star that I just adhered in place on the cardfront. A bit of Silver & White Sheer Ribbon and called it done!
I am partial to blues, so I pulled them out for this card – Starry Sky Cardstock for the embossed layer, and Orchid Oasis Cardstock (a bluey-purple) for the card itself. Must make use of these 2022-2024 In Colors before they retire at the end of May 2024! (Plus it seemed appropriate to use Starry Sky for a Stars at Night project).
The Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder will be retiring at the end of the September-December Mini Catalogue (or whenever supplies are exhausted) so if you’ve had your eye on this one, you won’t want to miss out! The Last Chance Sale is on now until 3 January 2024, with selected retiring Mini Catalogue product discounted up to 60% off! Shortcut to shop is YamStamps.com/shop or you can message me if you’d like to pay by etransfer or need assistance placing an order.
Wishing you a Happy Halloween tomorrow! I know that some people really go all in for Halloween, while others are only there for the candy….LOL. I thought I’d post this card today, just in case you need a last minute card but don’t have a Halloween set on hand.
I typically don’t buy a lot of exclusively Halloween focused products. Stampin’ Up! does have some specific Halloween sets, but often, they’ll mix in a harvest/autumn theme with Halloween, so you can have the best of both worlds, especially if you don’t send out a lot of Halloween cards or treats.
This card is a way to celebrate when you don’t have a lot of specific holiday products. You can take basic colours that are associated with a holiday and mix in some easily customizable products to create something appropriate for the season!
While orange and black are typical Halloween colours, I’ve also seen a lot of purple/green combinations as well – and those are the shades I chose for this card. I picked a green shade patterned paper from the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper, and combined that with Basic Black and Gorgeous Grape Cardstocks. I placed an Adhesive Sheet on the back of the Basic Black Cardstock before die cutting with the Alphabet A La Mode dies – warning, that dot on the exclamation mark can disappear very easily if you don’t keep your eye on it!! Added a bit of black Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack in the corners. Then you turn out the lights…
Can you see them? (this was kind of hard to photograph well!) I managed to grab some of the glow in the dark bats and ghosts before they sold out. These were super popular, so I was happy to have some to share with my Card Club Members so that they could use them for these Halloween cards. If you missed out on them, at time of writing, the Glow in the Dark Specialty Paper is still available – and could be used for some fun holiday lights or stars effects – not just for Halloween!
So BOO! Happy Halloween! Only treats here! Just a reminder, though, that tomorrow is the LAST DAY to get in on the Starter Kit Special! 35% off or 35% more product in your Demonstrator starter kit. You know what’s really scary? How many people wait until the last day to get in on a special price (and how much stress the site gets put under when everyone is trying to complete their sign ups at the same time)! Don’t wait any longer! https://yamstamps.com/join for more information and to grab your special Demonstrator starter kit today! Sharing a Non Christmas Card made with Christmas Themed Designer Series Paper!
Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers are typically double sided – with patterns on both sides of the papers. I love this – because there’s such a choice of coordinating patterns at my fingertips – but I also hate having to choose between the patterns sometimes!! Anyway…another thing to love, though, is often there are options if it’s a specifically themed paper – like the Merry Bright & Bold Designer Series Paper – one pattern tends to be more holiday themed than the other. I used the less blatantly holiday patterns to create this non Christmas Card!
This is another one of those easy fun fold cards, too – just cut off the front of the card and turn it! As always, to make my crafting easier, I picked the colours for my card from the colours in the Designer Series Paper – so in this case, I used Blueberry Bushel Cardstock and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock. I must admit, when I first heard that Lemon Lime Twist was coming back as a colour, my reaction was more on the “meh” side than anything else – but I am using a LOT of it lately, so it must be growing on me.
This non Christmas card was actually one of the cards we made in the last Online Card Club, though instead of the die cut sentiment, I included a die cut circle, so that members could use a stamp from their stash to create whatever kind of card they might need…including a holiday card, I guess! The flip side of the patterns shown on this card are lights and tiny evergreen trees – so the options are endless.
Interested in regular crafting sessions and a way to budget out your crafting spending? If you’re in Canada, consider joining my Online Card Club! Members can budget out their spending, since there is no class fee, but rather a minimum product order ($33CAD) requirement for each month they are part of club. Each member joins for a period of 6 months, and once during that period, gets to spend all the Stampin’ Rewards for the Club orders that month! We meet online in Zoom on the third Monday of the month (generally), but if club members can’t make it live, they have access to the recording in our club site. Our next club date is Monday, 20 November, 1pm eastern. Message me if you’re interested in joining us!
Sharing this fun fold autumn card with you today – thank you for stopping by! If you’re a Canadian visitor, I hope that you had a good Thanksgiving. If you’re an international follower, I hope you had a good weekend!
This is a card that we made in our Online Card Club a little while ago. I like fun folds that don’t require a lot of special tools, and that ultimately fit in a regular, medium Stampin’ Up! envelope. Though I will make some that don’t meet these requirements, they tend to be the exception rather than the rule.
This fun fold autumn card features the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper. The backing cardstock is Cajun Craze, and it’s accented with some Calypso Coral. The neutral cardstock is Very Vanilla for a change – I tend to automatically reach for Basic White. It helps that the Designer Series Paper has a vanilla base! The sentiment is from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set, but I decided to use it with the Double Oval Punch rather than the coordinating Timeless Arrangements dies. For club, I tend to use less specific die cuts and punch outs so that club members can use whatever stamps they have on hand when they are constructing their cards.
If you need any of these products, don’t forget that right now, you can get FREE shipping with a product order of $100 or more (before taxes/after any discounts) – but only until Wednesday, 11 October at 1159pm Mountain Time. Shop online at https://yamstamps.com/shop. Once the cumulative total is $100, I’ll place the order so that everyone gets free shipping!
I’m going to try to edit my club video to show the construction of this card, so I’ll let you know when I can get it uploaded to the YamStamps YouTube channel!
It definitely felt like fall weather the past few days….a bit of a shock to my system, especially since I spent most of last week in Florida! I was there for business purposes…really…but I couldn’t go to Orlando and NOT visit a theme park!
A couple of friends and I spent some time at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival….but I think the highlight was the fact that we got to ride the new Guardians of the Galaxy Ride! We were in the Virtual Queue group 8, which meant that we basically walked right onto the ride first thing in the morning! (Honestly, that was one of the most thrilling parts of the ride LOL). However….that also meant that we didn’t make it to the fireworks in the evening as we were DONE before that. I hadn’t been to Disney in a few years, so it was great to be back in at least one of the parks. Must plan to visit again!! Do you have a favourite Disney Park? I do hope to make it to Disney Sea (the Japanese Disney Park) in the next few years.
In the meantime, I’ll get back to work so that I can plan my next trip!!
