I'm here with another Tuesday Tip – designed to make your crafting more quick and easy!
I love the fact that Stampin' Up!'s colours all coordinate – you know that the Real Red cardstock will match the shade of the Real Red Ink Pad and the Real Red Stampin' Write marker, and the Real Red ribbon etc etc – or at least you know it won't be a totally different tone of red.
I admit that I am a bit of a lazy crafter as well – why should I go to all the trouble of figuring out what colours go together when I could use my Colour Coach…or even better, just use the colours that Stampin' Up! uses in the Designer Series Papers?! To that end, here's today's Tuesday Tip, that some of you organized types may have already figured out. I think I've mentioned in the past that Oprah has her "aha" moments, and I tend to have my "well, DUH" moments…
Stampin' Up! very nicely tells us what colours are used in the Designer Series Paper images – it's listed in the catalogues under each DSP. My tip – write those colours down on the backing sheet in the DSP package! That way, you don't have to (a) look at the paper and try to guess what colours they used OR (b) try to find your catalogue that's buried under the avalanche of discarded cardstocks that don't match the DSP when you thought they did.
Simple and easy, makes crafting so much more enjoyable!
Hope all my Canadian friends and family (and ex-pats!) were able to enjoy the beautiful colours of the long weekend while celebrating Thanksgiving.
Don't forget that I have an Opportunity Night tomorrow at 7pm here in Burlington ON. If you're interested in attending, please RSVP ASAP! It's a great time to start your own Stampin' Up! business. (I know, I say that all the time, but it's true!!). For my other upcoming events, don't forget to check my events page. Hope to see you soon!

Thought I'd add a "Tuesday Tip" – a quick tip for your paper crafting! The plan is for this to be a semi-regular feature here at www.yamstamps.com Today's video tutorial is a variety of ways (okay, 4 to be exact) that you can create notched ends in your paper or ribbon to complete the look of your paper craft projects. If you are reading this in a reader or via email, the video may not appear, so in that case, please go to the video on the yamstamps youtube channel or the yamstamps blog to see it.
The stamp sets used in the project were Blue Ribbon and Confetti for the birthday card, and the swap card used Bootiful Occasions (on my wish list…LOL).
If you have anything you'd like to see featured on Tuesday Tips, please leave a comment below (please note, they will not appear right away as comments must be approved as legitimate!) or send me an email.
I was going through my files and realized that I don't think I had shared this card with you….and now the punch is retiring LOL!
This Stampin' Up! butterfly punch is retiring in 2 days on May 31st. I used Pretty in Pink and Whisper White cardstocks, and Pretty in Pink Designer Series Paper, plus the scallop edge punch. A little "bling" (although is it truly bling if it's not sparkly?) with the pearls.
Shop the retiring product HERE and remember only until May 31st. If you entered my retiring list contest, remember that you have until May 31st to save $5 on your $50 order.
Finally, my Open House and retired product sale is happening this Saturday, June 2nd at 1pm – RSVP to reserve your free copy of the new catalogue! You will also earn a gift certificate for use this summer based on your retired product purchases!
I created this card using Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scored tool. You may recall my Christmas card where I used scored lines for a design element. When I revisited the concept for this card, I realized that having the scored lines so the bump was on the good side made them more visible. So here's the result. The leaf image is from the Days of Gratitude set the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny wishes. Always Artichoke, River Rock and Kraft cardstocks were used for this card. Can't wait til March 1st when the Diagonal Simply Scored Plate that fits on my Simply Scored tool is released! (Demos get to preorder in February – woohoo!)
If you are interested in learning more about demonstrator events and being a demonstrator, please attend my no cost Information Evening! Next one is being held Wednesday, February 8th at 7pm. RSVP for directions. If you can't make it that evening, please get in touch with me anyway – we can chat on the phone or make other arrangements. I'd love for you to consider becoming part of my demonstrator group!
