Doesn’t this have a lovely, serene, beachy feel? This is made with Stampin’ Up!’s Picture Perfect set, and the watercolour wash effect paper on the bottom is the limited editionSale-a-Bration Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper. The flip side of this paper is a marbled look – it’s truly gorgeous and difficult to pick which side to use!! The paper will be available for free with a $60 product order until February 15th. There _may_ be an opportunity to get it after that date, depending on inventory, but it’s not guaranteed – so grab it now before you miss it. The other colours on this card are Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip.
I’ve decided that I’m going to make an effort to send out more cards by mail. During the next 40 days, I’m going to mail out 40 cards – a card a day. I’m not going to count my “Thank You” customer cards in that total, because I want to challenge myself! This ties in nicely with a movement happening in the Stampin’ Up! world. One of the corporate team members is starting a trend to send out birthday cards – celebrating the handmade, mailed card as opposed to electronic messages (even though those are nice, too!). Shannon bravely put out a facebook post welcoming all to indicate their birthdays to receive a card. I think she has over 1000 birthdays to keep on top of, at last count?! I am being a little more realistic in my abilities and time allotment, so I’m going to do 1 random card per day over 40 days. I posted my first card for this challenge on the YamStamps facebook page yesterday.
If you’d like to bring back the art of the handmade, mailed greeting card, you can register for the Birthday Card Class!! February’s class will be Thursday, February 25th at 7pm in Burlington. The registration deadline is TOMORROW so don’t miss it. You receive a package of the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper included in your class fee, so you’ll have plenty to take home after completing four different birthday cards in class. Please contact me if you have any questions, or use the registration link below.
One of my goals this year is to get more organized in how I work my business. Truthfully, I think every year I have some sort of organizing goal/resolution! I have spent some time and think I’ve hit a good method for me to keep on top of all the ongoing tasks….so we’ll see how it goes! Fingers crossed. One of the areas I needed to streamline was my thank you card process.
This is the thank you card for eveyone who placed an order in January. I came up with a quick card using some great Sale-a-Bration items – Botanicals for You stamp set and Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum stack, and teamed Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder together for a monochromatic colour scheme. I have post-it notes inside with a note to the recipient, with the intention that they can re-use the card for their own card giving needs!
I tried out a set up to shoot some quick videos on my iphone, and I can already tell I need to invest in a microphone to improve the sound quality. That being said, you can still hear what I’m saying, and see what I’m doing. This was a “one take wonder” video, no re-dos and no editing other than for time and to add the title and end slides. If you subscribe to the YamStamps YouTube Channel, you’ll hopefully have received notification of this video when it went live yesterday. In the meantime, here it is again for your viewing pleasure 😉 If you don’t see a video below, go to the YamStamps YouTube Channel to check it out. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. If you want to see what the February thank you card looks like…you should place an order!!
It’s me…. (sorry, couldn’t resist). I was singing Adele’s song to myself the whole time I was creating this card. Thought I’d share that earworm with you! In any case, I do love this Hello stamp set from Stampin’ Up! which is shown on page 19 of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue. It’s one of the limited time offerings. Sale-a-Bration runs until the end of March, but there’s a certain number of items only available until February 15 (that means less than a month to get your hands on this!). I paired it with the English Garden Designer Series Paper (love the hand painted look). The sentiment is cut out with one of the framelits from the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits set. This is one of the most used of my framelits because it’s a perfect size for some of the larger or longer sentiments. I also tend to have more success die cutting a sentiment and adding it, rather than stamping directly onto the cardfront – this is one way that I can ensure that the sentiment is totally straight and exactly where I want it to be.
Stampers Club members are making this card today during club. If you’re interested in joining club or want more information, see the YamStamps events page, or contact me for more information.
OK – off the bat – new Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up! Canada – click on the image or HERE to see them in the YamStamps Online store.
Next – New Catalogues! The Holiday Catalogue is now done, and it’s time for the Occasions Catalogue! Lots of items to keep you busy crafting and creating through the next few chilly months.
Last but definitely not least – it’s Sale-a-Bration! From now until March 31, you can get more! For each $60 in product you purchase, you can receive a free Sale-a-Bration item. If you host a cardmaking party, you can earn more free items depending on sales. If you get a demonstrator starter kit, you’ll be able to choose $195 product for just $125 ($40 more than usual!)
This beautiful card is one that I received from a member of my “Eh” Team of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, Leanne Cyr. Isn’t it lovely? Featuring the Sale-a-Bration favourite set, Lotus Blossom. Love the colours and spring feeling. She’s also used the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue. Did you know that the original designs for this paper set were all hand painted?
It’s coming down to the crunch to get your hands on Sale-a-Bration items with each $60 merchandise order, and extra items in your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator starter kit – March 31st is the last day to take advantage of these deals. Please contact me if you need assistance, have any questions, or are ready to pick out your starter kit items (I can walk you through the sign up process). You can shop online 24/7 at the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store. PLEASE don’t leave it til the last minute, in part because Sale-a-Bration items are while supplies last, and in part because any good site can be overwhelmed by high amounts of traffic, and of course, that tends to happen the closer that we get to deadlines!
Time is ticking…you have 5 days left to take advantage of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration – it ends March 31st, but PLEASE don’t wait until then as most Sale-a-Bration items are while supplies last. If you’re looking to join my “Eh” Team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, sign up before March 31st to get a free kit from the Occasions catalogue, but again, don’t wait! Having lived through Stampin’ Up! deadlines before, I’m pretty sure that the system will be overloaded with last minute shoppers and new demonstrators – and it’s not pretty. Please contact me if you have questions or need assistance!
This is a card we did in Stampers Club this month – using the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is a Sale-a-Bration free item with each $60 merchandise order. This paper is already embossed, so just add ink! We sponged Always Artichoke ink onto the cardstock – I like the look of the sponging because it’s not solid – it gives a gradation to the colour. If you like the more solid colour effect, you can brayer the ink onto the paper, but I figure we need to highlight the fact that it’s not just a solid printed paper! Added the “thanks” from the Hello You Thinlits and a bit of gold ribbon and it’s done.
Check out the latest video on the YamStamps YouTube channel showing how to make cutting with Thinlits an easy experience. Thrifty Tip Reminder – get double duty from your backing cardstock – cut the word from the cardstock before adhering the remainder underneath your Designer Series paper! Happy Crafting.
