This fun birthday card uses the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration set Big Day, which you can get for free with each $60 in merchandise order until the end of March. Added some colour with Blendabilities, popped onto a card front and done! I added the images on a layer rather than the card base as Blendabilities will bleed through, and I didn’t like to have that show on the inside of the card. Right now, Stampin’ Up! has stopped the availability of Blendabilities as they work out some issues with the product – so they’re unavailable to order 🙁 however this doesn’t mean that you have to stop colouring! There are many ways that you can colour images – your Stampin’ Write markers, aqua painter or blender pen used with ink refills (or picking up ink from the inside lid of the stamp pad).

I apologize for the quiet period on the blog here – I’ve been battling a stubborn cold and it’s left me with little energy reserves – however I think it’s finally on its way out the door (fingers crossed) and I’m looking forward to getting back to my old self again. Sale-a-Bration is that great time of the Stampin’ Up! Canada year where your regular orders earn you FREE product. This Wednesday’s Monthly Card Class will be featuring Sale-a-Bration items – like this card here! The Lotus Blossom Stamp Set has proven to be the most popular choice in the first month of Sale-a-Bration amongst my customers, and I have to agree. I was first drawn to Stampin’ Up! because of Two Step Stamping. You stamp a partial image and then complete the image with another stamp. This allows you to have a stem and a flower that are two different colours, and gradation of colour and dimension in an image. In the Lotus Blossom case, it’s actually Three Step Stamping – the blossom has 3 different components combined to make a beautiful image. This card also uses the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper – another Sale-a-Bration exclusive item. I love that bokeh effect on the paper.
A reminder that registration is required 2 days in advance of any event (to allow me time to prepare all the supplies!) so if you’re interested in attending Wednesday’s class, please register by the end of Monday, February 2nd (once you’ve finished checking out what Wiarton Willie has to say about the weather).
I am working on my New Year’s cards (because I didn’t _quite_ get those Christmas cards done…) though it feels like January 1st was ages ago…perhaps they’ll turn into Valentine’s Day cards?!
