Sorry…can you tell that I just finished our choir Christmas concert – and that it’s snowy here? We actually had to cancel one of the concerts due to the weather. Much to my son’s chagrin, the “snow day” did not occur on a school day, but on the weekend!

Stampin’ Up! has a blitz going on at the Clearance Rack. You usually find good deals on discontinued products here (old packaging, hard to find colours…) well today they are loading a TON of stuff into the rack – and it’s all available only while supplies last. So – your best bet is to place your own online order and have it shipped directly to your door. If you live local to Burlington ON you can contact me and I can place your order for your and you can pick it up from me….but I can’t guarantee that everything on your list will still be available since I will be grouping orders together.
As well – it’s the weekly deals day! Tuesday ushers in a number of regular catalogue items on sale for one week only – here they are! (how can you go wrong with Stampin’ Write Markers?!) (by not getting them on sale?! LOL)

Have I mentioned how much I like the Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry Ornament kit?! This card is a great way to present an ornament to someone special. The Winter Frost Designer Series Paper layer is actually popped up a bit at the top using some Stampin’ Dimensionals. After creating the ornament, the ribbon is tucked in behind that layer to anchor it in place. It makes a beautiful looking presentation, and then afterwards, the recipient can pull out the ornament and use it on their tree! This could be a great family project – and the kids can sign their names to the back of the ornament with the date as a keepsake.
The next photo shows the ornament separate from the card. We created this in the last of the Christmas Card Class Series….talk about going out with a bang! Just a reminder that January’s Monthly Card Class will be held the SECOND Wednesday of the month, since the first Wednesday is January 1st so people might still be recovering from all the festivities. OK. I might still be recovering from being forced to stay up past midnight. Whatever.

Oops! I just realized that I hadn’t posted the video from my CHCH TV Morning Live appearance here! I did manage to get it onto the YamStamps Youtube channel….so I’m catching up now! I am always grateful when I’m invited back to be on the Morning Live show – the hosts and crew are fantastic to work with, and we always have fun on air. This past time, I shared some handmade Christmas card ideas – including a fun (and fairly simple to recreate) 3D card. All these items are great – I love how the fun flowers can be layered to create a multidimensional flower, or used on their own, and I consider a scallop circle as part of my essential punch kit.

Don’t forget to get your FREE download – the monthly desktop calendar – December 2013 has a fun retro feel to it. This was the colour scheme for a lot of my holiday cards this year. I laughed during the weekend Stamp-a-Stack that it was the “Pastel” class as a majority of the cards had softer colours. I was sure to get one or two bolder colours in there, though!!

This is the card we created live on air last week when I was invited back to CHCH TV’s Morning Live show. I always enjoy my spots there, and I know that co-host Annette Hamm is crafty, so it’s always fun to share new projects with her. While this is a Christmas card, I think you could change out the sentiment and turn it into an any occasion card…maybe add a few more stars…or have no stars at all….hmmm….. You may not recognize the Stampin’ Up! Evergreen stamp set as it does not appear in a current catalogue but is still available to order, which is a good thing, since I like it so much 🙂
