OK, well not a national sports team….but still a team…
I was fortunate enough to be selected to be part of "Team Canada" for Stampin' Up! Canada. An initiative by Dale Hampshire, Manager of Stampin' Up! Canada, the group was formed to help address the question "How can we make being a demonstrator more rewarding for Canadians?"
I'm honoured to be part of this team of demonstrators from all levels all over Canada – we had an orientation meeting the other evening, and it was great to get together with other demos from the area and start some brainstorming. The enthusiasm in the room was very contagious, as it always seems to be when a group of demonstrators gets together.
There's 150 demonstrators on the team, a number of whom I'm already familiar with, and I'm looking forward to meeting other members as we work on various projects. In the meantime, though, I've got to finish up my tax paperwork to get to the accountant! (This is ALWAYS the time of year that I kick myself for not being more organized….and for procrastinating!!!). This is not the kind of paperwork I enjoy…
If you are looking at picking up some retiring colour product, you should NOT procrastinate – a number of the reinkers are already sold out, as is Not Quite Navy cardstock. When supplies are limited, your best bet is to place your order online! If you have any questions, though, please contact me.
More excitement in May as well – I'm finalizing my date for my annual new catalogue open house which features the always popular rubber garage sale – retired crafting product going at a great price! Keep watching here for the announcement of the date, or subscribe to my newsletter to be sure not to miss it!
Just a reminder that the free shipping offer is on until TONIGHT, Monday, April 8th (11:50 mountain time) – but don't wait until the last minute, because I'm sure the system will be busy!!
If you have been to one of my classes, you may have used these wonderful items on a project. I LOVE Stampin' Up!'s watercolour wonder crayons, but sadly, they've been discontinued. The Brights crayons and the watercolour pencils were on backorder and due to supplier issues, will not be available at all. The Regals, Neutrals and Subtles Watercolour Crayons will only be available while supplies last – so don't delay if you want to get some! Of course, if you order before April 8th, you can also take advantage of FREE shipping anywhere in Canada. Click HERE to shop now…
I always loved being able to colour in images and make washes for backgrounds, especially on watercolour paper. I felt so artistic (even though I did NOT do well at watercolour painting – but with stamping and these babies I could almost pull it off).
Which leaves me with one question….now how will I be able to fake looking artistic??!!!
Just a reminder….free shipping is on right now until Monday, April 8th.You can place your order and have it shipped directly to your door, anywhere in Canada. No minimum order requirement!
If your order is less than $200, and it's before Sunday April 7th at midnight, use the hostess code DSYHNBPQ. I will draw a name from everyone who enters an order with this code, and one person will receive all the hostess dollars to spend!
If your order is $200 or more, do NOT use the code – you will get your own hostess dollars to spend!
Don't forget about the Colour Refresh – those retiring colour products are only available while supplies last. I'll post updates to my yamstamps facebook page if supplies run out on retiring colours.
Need a little laugh? Watch this video I made using my iphone telling you about the special. Bit of a bad hair day. I'm sure I've had worse, but I decided to go with the video anyway. I'm working on "done is better than perfect" for many aspects of my life!! I tweeted it earlier but thought I'd upload it for posterity. (This may be one of those ideas I regret later on LOL).
If you can't see the embedded video, go to the yamstamps youtube channel to check it out (once it finishes uploading).

Another card that can be used for Easter….or you could vary the colour scheme to use for another event such as a Baptism. The cross is heat embossed with gold powder, and the background is dry embossed using the Fancy Fan embossing folder and the Big Shot. I love also using the Brushed Metallic Gold cardstock as an accent. Still time to make this and give it to someone special at Easter!
Speaking of still having time…(what a smooth segue, eh?!) Stampin' Up!'s Starter Kit special has been extended until March 31st!! You can select $194 of merchandise and pay only $125. It's a fantastic way to get more bang for your buck! (hmmm should have posted about this on Frugal Friday, I guess?!) Contact me if you have any questions, or if you're ready to sign up and live in Canada, click here.
Frugal Friday is a semi-regular occurrence here on www.yamstamps.com – showing you how to stretch your crafting dollars! I have a video today to share, showing how to create an Easter card even if you don't have any specific Easter stamps. This card could also work for Baptisms, Christenings, First Communions…you get the idea…
I didn't do a commentary for this video, it's pretty self-explanatory, though I did add some captions.
Four years ago (?!) I shared some easy decorated chocolates in this post HERE. Using easily found bulk chocolates and a bit of cardstock, you can create fun additions for your Easter table – I created bunnies, a lamb and a duck…go to the post and check them out!
I had to repost, they're too cute to get buried in the archives 😉
