Stampin' Up! is now offering the "Fancy Friends" Kit! This bundle includes two stamps (from two different sets), ink spots, 6 note cards and envelopes, rhinestones and floral embellishments. All you need to add is a bit of adhesive (mini glue dots would work well) and time! This is a great "on the go" kit to have to make use of "found time" – while you're waiting for appointments, to pick up family members etc. Store this in a spare large stamp box and you're good to go!
If you are reading this on the Yamstamps app (available for iphone or android), you will want to click on the "view original post" button at the bottom of the post if you wish to access the embedded links to the items in the online store.

Stampin' Up! is celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day with 50% off all digital kits – plus there will be free downloads available! More details tomorrow – or check my online store under "My Digital Studio".
A reminder that there is a free 30 day trial of My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2 for short) – here's some technical info in case you were looking to download this in time to use it with the kits and free downloads! As well, if you place your order for your free download through my online store, I will send you exclusive video tutorials on using the software!
Here's some technical information about installing the trial, especially if you already have My Digital Studio…
If you have the original My Digital Studio software and would like to try the MDS 2 Trial, you have a couple of options for installing the trial software:
- Save over My Digital Studio software. You can install MDS 2 Trial directly over your original My Digital Studio program. This will allow you to access all the downloads you have already purchased for My Digital Studio in your MDS 2 Trial program without having to re-download any of your digital content. Use this option if you are confident that you will purchase the MDS 2 software before the end of the trial.
- Save in a new location. Or, you can install MDS 2 Trial in a different location on your computer. If you do this, you will have to download any of your previously purchased My Digital Studio content into your new MDS 2 (if you want to use that content). The plus side is that if you install the MDS 2 Trial in a different location, it will not alter your original My Digital Studio program. So, after the 30-day trial, if you use your original My Digital Studio software, you will still have access to all of your original downloads without re-downloading.
You can save the trial software in a different location by giving it a different name when you see this screen during the installation process:
| Windows: |
Mac: |
 |
 |
If you purchase downloads during the 30-day trial period, they will be added to your most recently installed software, which is the MDS 2 Trial. After the trial period is over, you may need to re-download that content depending on whether or not you purchase the software and where you save it.
This is important! No matter how you download the trial, if you are going to buy the MDS 2 software, we strongly recommend purchasing it before your trial period has expired. When you launch the software after the 30 day trial period is over, you will be prompted to enter a product key. You will not be able to use the software again until you have entered a product key that you get when you purchase MDS 2 or MDS 2+.
So, if you installed the MDS 2 Trial over your original My Digital Studio software (option 1 above) and you wait until after the 30 days are over, you will have to re-download and install all your purchased digital content in order to use it in your original My Digital Studio software. Any downloads purchased during the trial period will also have to be re-downloaded. Also, since you replaced your original software, if you decide not to purchase MDS 2, you will have to reinstall the software too.
If you installed the MDS 2 Trial in a different place on your computer (option 2 above) and you wait until after the 30 days are over, any downloads purchased and installed during the trial period will have to be reinstalled. Your original My Digital Studio software will remain exactly the same, and you won’t have to reinstall it.
During the 30-day trial period, if you decide to purchase the software, you can follow the options listed above to save the permanent software. If you save it over your original My Digital Studio software, you will not need to re-download your purchased downloads; however, if you save it in a new location, you will need to add those downloads to the new MDS 2 software. If you purchase the upgrade or MDS 2, all you’ll have to do is enter the product key. If you purchase MDS 2+, then you’ll want to follow the instructions above so that all of the new content is installed. Keep in mind that our new SVG stamp brush sets will not work in the original My Digital Studio software.
Hope that's not too confusing – please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Oct 24, 2012 | Announcements, cards, Christmas, Events
I've posted 4 of the choices for the Christmas Card Clinics that I've scheduled for November. The dates are: Friday November 9th, Saturday, November 10th, Saturday, November 17th and Wednesday November 21st. You choose which date works best for you, and which card you'd like to create. Cost is $30 for 10 cards of one design, $2.50 for each additional card of the same design thereafter. I've added an option this year for you to add on an order of Basic Pearls, Basic Rhinestones or a bottle of Dazzling Details for you to bling up your cards as you desire.

Here is one of the card options. I plan on posting a few more choices over the next few days as well. The Clinic photo album is at the right on the blog, or try this link to go directly to the options.
The card clinic is a great way to get a bunch of cards done quickly and easily. Pick the design of your choice, I will cut and prepare all the materials and have them waiting for you on your clinic date. You come to my place in Burlington, stamp and assemble, and take your cards home to sign and mail! Beautiful handmade cards without too much fuss or muss. I look forward to helping you spread the holiday spirit :) Please contact me if you have any questions, or wish to register. You can also register through the Yamstamps event page, through the paypal link.

This is one of the fun cards we did in this month's Christmas Stamp a Stack. Using the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper as a background makes for a quick design. The image is a stamp from the Seasonal Sayings set, available in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday catalogue. The big news is that Stampin' Up! is trialling single stamp sales. You can purchase single stamps from a number of sets until January 2nd. So the Christmas image in the card (cropped a bit for the card design) can be purchased on its own! The card was finished off with a bit of Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon – used backwards so the plain side shows, Gumball Green cardstock cut with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits, and black Basics Glimmer brads.
In other news – you may have seen this if you follow my twitter feed or are a fan of the Yamstamps facebook page – I've got an app!! You can download the Yamstamps app for Androids HERE. It's still awaiting final approval before it's listed in the itunes store for iphones. It's a free app and I'd love feedback on it!

Have you ever struggled to find a good design for your handmade cards? Here's a hint – just copy the layout of a card you've already made! Take a look at this thank you card I made…now look down the page a bit (if you're on the yamstamps blog itself..) and take a look at the masculine ship card a couple of posts ago….see?! Same layout, different feel! Both feature the same basic design, including the notched strip of designer series paper, the focal element and the extra design feature at the bottom right of the card 🙂 Easy peasy. This version uses the Patio Party Designer Series Paper, the Papillon Potpourri set and the Curly Cute stamp set, all from Stampin' Up. I also used the large oval punch and the Elegant Butterfly punch for the accents.
We made this card in our Stampers club get together the other evening. If you're interested in joining the Stampers Club and earning free hostess dollars, see the event page or contact me for more information.
There's a great hostess special for November…and I still have a few openings for in home classes! Contact me if you want first choice of dates; I'll be looking to fill my calendar by the end of this week.
Oct 16, 2012 | Information
woohoo! Even though I said this would be a "semi-regular" thing, here I am with another Tuesday Tip 🙂
This is another organizational Tuesday Tip…gee, you'd think I was really organized wouldn't you…*cough*
Anyway – I thought I'd show you how I have started to store my framelit dies. Those skinny thin dies come in a great folder, but I find this works better for me. I have some extra clear mount cases, and adhered some magnet strips inside. The dies are held in place by the magnet, and then I insert the information in the case as well. If you have some of the Stampin' Up! Big Shot magnetic sheets left, they work well for this; other options include adhesive business card magnets (get them at office supply stores) or some dollar stores carry photo adhesive magnets. I find this system easy to use – I can get the dies in/out without much effort, and easy to store (and not lose…).
Hope that helps! If you have a crafting or storage tip you'd like to share, please let me know!
Heads up if you're in the Burlington area – registration is now closed for the Thursday Christmas Stamp a Stack with only a few spots left for the Sunday afternoon Stamp a Stack – contact me ASAP if you'd like to attend!

Stampin' Up!'s The Open Sea stamp set is great for non-flowery cards! Here's a great masculine card done in Basic Gray, with a touch of colour from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper. I love that the colours are Hallowe'en-ish but the design can be used for other occasions. When you use strips of DSP, you can stretch your stash really far as well.
I'll be prepping for the monthly gathering of the Stamp Club members, as well as for the upcoming Christmas Stamp a Stacks. For October, Stamp a Stack attendees will be receiving a package of Glimmer Brads to dress up their cards. If you're interested in attending, please contact me or sign up on the Events page. Dates are Thursday, October 18th and Sunday, October 21st. The projects are different each month, so if you attended in September, you'll be getting a stack of new ideas!
By the way, if you record the date in month-day-year format…today is 10-11-12! One of my Facebook friends pointed that out! Thanks Laura 🙂 Hope it's a good day for all of you.
