Sorry for a bit of radio silence here on the blog – busy offline! In the meantime – here’s the latest batch of Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up! Canada. Remember that there’s a limited amount of these items at the special price, and only for a week. My favourite this week (though I love and own all these items! LOL) – has to be the Precision Base Plate. I love it for cutting out detailed thinlits (which I’ve been doing a fair bit of right now as I am rushing to get MY Christmas cards done!!). I think that if you’re going to be using the Big Shot, you might as well have the proper tools to make your crafting more efficient and easy – so this falls into that category for me.
Other good news today??!! Our wishes (and the demonstrators making a lot of noise and sales LOL) have been answered! Stampin’ Up! has reversed the retirement of the Woodlands Folder! While it is no longer available to be ordered at this time (backorders will be filled), it WILL be returning in next year’s catalogue!!! They could not ignore how popular this folder was! Yay! So even if you couldn’t grab one this time around, know that there’s more coming.

Happy December! It’s a busy day in the YamStamps world – new Stampin’ Up! Canada Weekly Deals, the monthly newsletter goes out today, Week 10 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas goes out tomorrow….*phew*. I love working with vellum because I always think it gives an elegant touch to projects! This is an easy thank you card made with Stampin’ Up! Gold Fancy Foil Vellum (which is part of the Online Extravaganza ending November 30th). The heart vellum is layered on top of English Garden Designer Series Paper. The word “thanks” from the Another Thank You set is stamped in Soft Suede onto the Designer Series Paper. An additional layer of interest is added by stamping the watercolour flower image from Garden In Bloom in Old Olive on the Old Olive card. The gold doily cut in half at the top of the strip hides the adhesive holding the vellum in place. The bottom of the vellum is left loose.

We used the Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder on the overlaid piece and the Flower Patch stamp set with coordinating Flower Fair Framelits Dies for the images on the card. Added an elegant touch with the Pearl Basic Jewels which are one of my “go to” accents when a card needs a little something extra.

Check out this group of Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up! Canada – specially priced, while supplies last. There’s definitely a seasonal feel to this batch! The Jolly Christmas stamp set and the Season to Season Wreath kit will not be available after the Holiday Catalogue period, so it might be a good chance to snap them up at a reduced cost! The Snow Friends framelits will still be available (but why not pick them up at a good price?!). The cardstock will still be available, but not in the special pack that coordinates with the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper. For the first time, Stampin’ Up! is advising us what product in the seasonal catalogue will not be returning in a future catalogue – in other words, what will be retiring! In the past, it was a guessing game, figuring out what “might” come back in a future annual catalogue – well now, it’s not (although I’m doing the guessing game of “WHAT? Why wouldn’t they bring THAT back again?!” LOL). So we’re saying goodbye to some items: here’s the list, you can download it in pdf or sortable spreadsheet….and get shopping…

What were you most sad to see on the list? My big sad: Sleighride Edgelits. I thought for sure they’d make a reappearance in the future!
One thing that is taking the edge off the sadness….saying hello to friends old and new! I spent the Friday evening and Saturday at a new Stampin’ Up! demonstrator event called On Stage and Centre Stage. These replace the convention, are semi-annual, and are going to be held all over – this one was in Brussels, Belgium – but there were multiple smaller events coordinated with the Brussels event all over North America & the Pacific! We saw some footage from Brussels, plus had live demonstrations and sessions. There is nothing like getting together with a bunch of Stampin’ Up! demos to be inspired and entertained. I can’t share any photos of the product or catalogues we saw there at this time (top secret!) but here’s a non-incriminating photo….(well, that’s a relative term I suppose)
These are some of the “Eh” Team – my family of demonstrators, (Karen, Gail and Leanne; Mary was still en route) and myself with Dale Hampshire, the Stampin’ Up! Canada Manager. We learned a lot and laughed a lot this weekend, and it’s always great to meet up with friends.
Centre Stage is a leadership event, with a catered dinner and presentation on the Friday evening – I was too busy eating and talking to take a lot of photos at the time (I know you’re surprised….) but here’s a photo of the lovely flowers from our table. They must have made sure everyone knew the colour palette because my friends in other cities had similar (but not identical) arrangements!
