So…..I had about 4 projects prepped for the Morning Live appearance, knowing we wouldn’t get through all of them, but I really did think we would have managed to get more than one done on air! Ah well. I’d rather be over prepared than under prepared. Think of it as a YamStamps Blog Bonus – because I’ll share those projects here and who knows, if I can clear enough space in my stamping area, I’ll be able to shoot a video or two!! LOL.

Thanks to everyone at CH Morning Live for having me on as a guest once again. I managed to show one project…never mind the fact that I had at least 2 others prepped and ready to go!!! Ah well. TV’s loss is the YamStamps blog reader’s gain – I’ll share all those prepped projects here over the next while leading up to Valentine’s Day. I don’t know about you, but the time is flying by. Some other life commitments took priority for the first part of the year, and now I’m ready to re-focus and get things going! I did manage to do a bit of stamping, and we did have our regular Stampers Club get togethers, so that’s kept me creating…I do like that my business can be flexible to allow for a little slow down and then a ramp up if it’s my choice!
Here’s a fun card using the Work of Art set and the Hello Life set from the Occasions catalogue. This sentiment is going to be one of my mottos this year! This quick card can be made and sent in minutes, which for me is rather important. If there’s too many steps involved, the process gets derailed along the way. (As I type this, I am being mocked by the pile of “Happy New Year” cards sitting on my desk, waiting for postage. That’s right, New Year, because I didn’t quite get enough finished for Christmas). I suppose if I had been planning ahead, I would have done them in red, realizing that I would be near the end of the first month before getting them out, then I could pretend it was for the Lunar New Year….even though I’m not Chinese…

I’ll be spending this weekend trying to further clean out and organize my stamping area (it’s an ongoing battle, I tell you!) and prepping for Valentine’s Day cards, in anticipation of my TV appearance! I have my eye on the “Be the Star” set that coordinates with the Star Framelits, and in my opinion, you can never go wrong with a good basic shaped set of framelits like the squares. The Twelve Weeks of Christmas mailings are finished now – but why is it that I’m still surprised by how quickly time has passed? (Note – this would be the heads up that I have not really finished my own cards…LOL). Stampin’ Up!’s Snowflake Card Thinlits die does make for a fairly quick and impressive card, though! Of course, everything also looks more impressive when you add some bling – in this case, a snowflake from the Silver Glimmer Paper. The All Is Calm Designer Series Paper covers the back flap of the card, and the small snowflake from the Letterpress Winter Photopolymer set is on the front of the card, with the large snowflake taking centre stage.
The next shot shows the open card. You can make your card long like this one by cutting your cardstock to 5-3/8″ x 8.5″ and having the one end of the cardstock on top of the die (at the end farthest from the snowflake), rather than underneath it. This allows the snowflake end to be die cut/embossed, while not chopping off the other end of the cardstock. Then you simply fold the long end inwards and you have an extra area that will let you write on the inside of the card without having it exposed when the card is closed. (The last photo shows how to position the cardstock.
