Stampin’ Up! Retiring Product News

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Product News! While the full retiring list won’t be released for a few days yet, we do know of a few items that will be retiring – notably the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and the Stampin’ Trimmer!

What to know:

  1. Stampin’ Up! will still continue to offer dies and embossing folders, and moving forward these items will be made by a different supplier, so you will notice some difference in them. Exciting – the dies will have an inner edge or lip so that they will line up right against the stamped image – making them easier to align perfectly, rather than having to judge the amount of space you’re leaving around the stamped image. In the meantime, carry over dies and embossing folders may be the “old style” when ordered, until current stock is depleted.
  2. Stampin’ Up!’s Trimmer and all associated tools will be retiring – which means the replacement blades and mats. There is currently a 3 item limit on replacement blades, but after April 15th, it will move up to a 6 item limit. This means that you can stock up on the blades and they should last you a long time still.

While neither of these items will be in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue, Stampin’ Up! is moving forward with coming up with new offerings in these categories (and will let us know when they’re ready to be released!).

I know that this Stampin’ Up! Retiring Product News may be a bit of a surprise – I personally LOVE my Big Shot – but I know that Stampin’ Up! is working toward offering their own product that will fill the paper crafter’s needs, and I’m looking forward to see what they will be offering.

In the meantime, as always – if you have any questions, you can either leave a comment below or message me. If you need to grab these items (or associated accessories) – please visit yamstamps.com/shop (or click on the images above to see them in the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada Store).

No Fooling – There’s Something New!

This is not an April Fool’s Trick! Stampin’ Up! has released their storage solutions and you can get them starting today! Storage by Stampin’ Up! is perfectly sized for your Stampin’ Up! ink pads, refils and markers!

storage by stampin up image

This modular system is totally customizable – and can expand as your collection expands! You can select which trays and which toppers you get, and then combine them in a way that suits your crafting area!

Check out this flyer to see all the options – and a handy way to calculate how many of each type of storage block you’ll need! (or check out the quick reference image below)

As another cheat sheet helper:

There are 4 colour families, each with 10 ink pads/refills/Stampin’ Write Markers, there are 2 In Colour Families, each with 5 ink pads/refills/Stampin’ Write Markers. By my count there are currently 30 pairs of Stampin’ Blends Markers available (so 60 markers) plus 3 single Blends (colour lifter, Ivory, Bronze) but this number could be slightly off….obviously you’re best to count how many YOU have and order accordingly?!

I can’t wait to get my storage system set up – because I’m sure that will mean I will be totally organized in the next year, right?! *cough*

If you have any questions or need assistance ordering your Storage by Stampin’ Up, please feel free to contact me!

Christmas Card Inspiration and Sales Information

I don’t think I shared this card here! I made this one a while back – here’s some Christmas Card Inspiration. It takes a little more time than my usual quick cards, but I think it’s worth it in the end! True to my usual style, though, it looks like it’s more work than it actually is….

christmas card idea

I used a lot of different framelits on this card…the Detailed Baubles Thinlits Dies, the Layering Circle Framelits Dies, and the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies. The background is textured with the Tufted Embossing Folder (so elegant!). The lacy bauble portion is from the first set of dies, cut from Gold Glimmer Paper. The layering circle cut the background (from a Gold Foil Sheet) and the label is from the last set of dies. The sentiment on the label is from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set, and you can get it in a discounted bundle with the coordinating Detailed Baubles Thinlits. The jewels were an extra level of bling I added…they’re from the now unavailable Santa’s Workshop Enamel Elements. You could easily substitute any other bling you like – red rhinestone basic jewels, rhinestone basic jewels or metallic pearls are just some of your options! The other secret to making this easier – use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. I placed some on the back of the Gold Glimmer Paper and then ran that through the Big Shot with the Detailed Bauble framelit. Run the Big Shot Die Brush over it, then peeled off the liner and stuck it onto the Gold Foil Circle!

Unfortunately, a number of Holiday Catalogue Items are now unavailable to order – they’ve been overwhelmingly popular! Currently unavailable to order: Santa’s Workshop Enamel Elements, Festive Farmhouse Elements, Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper; Framelits: Alpine Sports, Santa’s Signpost; Santa’s Workshop Memories & More Card Pack – and anything that uses that card pack (like the kit). A few items are running low, but the good news is that Stampin’ Up! has let us know that they are going to be carried over: these items include the framelits In the Woods, Detailed Deer and Merry Christmas. The Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder will also be available to order after the Holiday Catalogue Sales Period. You’ll notice that there are NO stamp sets included in this list – mostly accessories/tools – since these are items that are not directly manufactured at Stampin’ Up!’s facilities in Utah. Their stamps are produced in Utah, so they have more direct control over production numbers.

Coming soon – Online Extravaganza. Download the flyer here. Three consecutive 48 hour sales featuring different selected items from the Annual Catalogue. November 23-24 is Paper & Embellishments, November 25-26 is Stamps & Kits, November 27-28 is Tools & Ink. Each sale runs until 1150pm Mountain time and then the next set of products will be available at special pricing. Please note that there are a set number of selected products available at the Online Extravaganza price, and once that allottment is gone, the product will not be available to order until after the sales period. Excluded from this sale – Paper Pumpkin Kits, bundles (which are already discounted anyway), the Big Shot and the Stamparatus. There are a few other items that are not included in the sales pricing, but you’ll be able to tell once you’re shopping online during the sale! If you need assistance placing your order, you are always welcome to contact me for assistance or to place the order for you. Please note, though, that I can’t guarantee availability, so if you’re really anxious to get your hands on some sale product, your best option is always to place the order yourself online at the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store. Shortcut is yamstamps.com/shop

Last but not least – there’s still some space in the Festive Farmhouse Elements Christmas Card Class happening on Wednesday, November 28 at 1pm or 7pm. Yes, you read that correctly. I do have a supply of the sold out wooden elements that each class attendee will receive with their $30 class fee. Contact me ASAP to reserve a spot, and one of the sold out packages of elements! You can check out upcoming events on the YamStamps Events Page. Hope to see you in class or club soon!

Christmas Project Inspiration

It’s that time of year again! Pumpkin spice! Just kidding (well, I guess not really….) but I was actually referring to the YamStamps Twelve Weeks of Christmas Mailings! Christmas Project Inspiration directly to your inbox! This special “Thank You” goes out to all subscribers on the YamStamps List – and it starts today – around 1pm Eastern. You can sign up at yamstamps.com/signup or enter your information at the top right of the blog.

Subscribers receive a weekly email with various projects, ideas, information and tips – and at this time of year, it’s double the fun. On Tuesdays, the “regular” YamStamps emails go out, and then on Wednesdays, the Twelve Weeks Christmas Project mailings are delivered. We start with cards, move to gifts and then to packaging and tag ideas. I hope you can join in the fun! These mailings will not be resent so if you want to start at the beginning, you’ll need to be on the list TODAY (like, NOW…).

Here’s a holiday card that I can share. It’s one that I created for a demonstrator swap – and I loved this design. However, I messed up when I created this particular card (and I’m really hoping it was only this card…) – but you can’t see the mistake in this photo.

beautiful blizzard christmas project

I discovered my mistake when I went to open the card to take a photo (which is why the card is flat in this picture!)….I stuck the front of the card elements on upside down!!! To see how I easily fixed this – check out the Facebook Live I did on Monday. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure how well it would work, but thought I’d wing it…and thankfully it did work beautifully, especially since it was a live video so no re-dos! I can guarantee that the Christmas Project ideas you’ll receive in your email inbox will not feature such errors…or if they do, you won’t be able to see them?! hahaha.

One last thing – World Cardmaking Day is coming up on Saturday, October 6th – and to celebrate, Stampin’ Up! is offering selected product at a discount until October 7th! You can check out the products in the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store, or click here to see the flyer. In the meantime, I hope that you are able to join the YamStamps mailing list for the extra Christmas Project mailings starting today!
