Embossed Card for Easter

Easter-embossed-card
Another card that can be used for Easter….or you could vary the colour scheme to use for another event such as a Baptism. The cross is heat embossed with gold powder, and the background is dry embossed using the Fancy Fan embossing folder and the Big Shot. I love also using the Brushed Metallic Gold cardstock as an accent. Still time to make this and give it to someone special at Easter!

Speaking of still having time…(what a smooth segue, eh?!) Stampin' Up!'s Starter Kit special has been extended until March 31st!! You can select $194 of merchandise and pay only $125. It's a fantastic way to get more bang for your buck! (hmmm should have posted about this on Frugal Friday, I guess?!) Birthday Card – Everything Eleanor

Eleanor-bday-cardThere are some Stampin' Up! sets that I love in theory but sometimes find it hard to create with….not sure why…but Everything Eleanor is one of them. I love the images, but can't always create something to my satisfaction….but I _do_ like this one! The label image and sentiment were stamped first, then masked with scrap paper so that the swirls stamped afterwards appear to go behing the label.  I was really happy with how this one turned out, except for one thing… I found that my new format Rich Razzleberry pad was sooooo juicy that the ink would get onto my fingers and then I'd end up smudging the cardfront. Happily, that's what embellishments help with – I placed the smallest of Paper Daisies onto the card to cover up some of the smudges, and then added a little bling with Basic Rhinestone.

Oh…by the way, if you'd like to get your hands on a full SET of those new format ink pads for FREE – please contact me! Buy a starter kit and not only will you get a ready-made home based business, you'll get a free set of ink pads! This is a great way to give your business a boost (or, let's face it, supply your crafting habit…LOL). Host a workshop with sales of $575 or more and you can also get a free set of ink pads! (or do both and get TWO sets of ink pads!!!!). This deal only lasts until December 16th – so don't miss out!!

Hamilton Regional Stampin’ Up! Training

I love attending Stampin' Up! events – there's so much energy and enthusiasm that it's contagious! The fact that you get a lot of creative and business inspiration is just a plus. One of my favourite things is seeing my demonstrator friends from all over…or even from the same city. The joke is that half the time I have to travel to the US to see some local demonstrator friends!

Anyway, this time was closer to home – just down the road in Hamilton! I was most excited to be able to hang out with Leanne, one of my demonstrator team members who doesn't live very close to me. While we've been in a lot of contact both by phone and on the computer, this was actually the first time we got to meet in person!!

With-Shelli-for-blog

Here we are with Shelli Gardner, co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! I love that she tries to attend as many of these regional events as she can.  One of these days, I'm going to make a collage of all the photos I have had taken with her over the 10 years I've been a demonstrator, and watch how our hairstyles change LOL.
