There’s one week left to purchase retiring items from the 2012-2013 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue – don’t miss out! This card features a couple of retiring sets – the sentiment is from Curly Cute, and the images in the background are from Circle Circus. I used Silver Glimmer Paper (don’t worry, not a retiring product!) to add some glamour to the card. I am not sure if you can see it in either of the photos of the card, but the silver embossing on the word actually also has a bit of glimmer to it…. I mixed some Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder into some Silver Embossing Powder to come up with a sparkly silver concoction that I thought tied in with the theme. I really like how it turned out!
The retiring stamp sets will be available to order until June 3rd. You can place your order from anywhere in Canada online HERE and have it shipped directly to your door! Or, you can contact me by email if you have any questions or want some assistance placing your order.
If you’re in the Burlington area, I have a couple of upcoming events – I’m doing an event at Tansley United Church on Saturday, June 1st. We’re creating cards, and we’ll share some of them with the church’s outreach program. Also, 20% of all product sales that day will be donated to the Tansley Cares outreach program. If you aren’t able to make it but would like your purchase to go towards supporting this effort, please email me with your order by Saturday, June 1st.
Also – last but not least, Saturday, June 8th – 9am start for my Annual New Catalogue Open House & Retired Rubber Sale – you won’t want to miss out! Come get your copy of the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue and shop! If you’re planning on shopping at the retired rubber sale, please bring cash. I can accept Visa & Mastercard for new catalogue orders only. Please RSVP so I can set aside a copy of the catalogue for you! I look forward to seeing you SOON!!

Moving Forward is the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set for this year – and it’s retiring at the end of the month. For each set sold, Stampin’ Up! donates to $3 US to RMHC – a great way to support a great cause and build your crafting stash at the same time! This card also uses the Parker’s Patterns Designer Series Paper. We cut out the banners using the Hearts a Flutter framelit and embossed the Marina Mist cardstock with the Cloudy Day Textured Embossing Folder. I love how the Big Shot not only makes my crafting more fun and easy, but lets me add dimension to my projects. I’m not sure what I did before I got one!! LOL.
You can still order the items on this card until June 3rd, so contact me if you have any questions, or start your online order here. Don’t forget to RSVP for my New Catalogue Open House on June 8th while you’re at it!!

It's your last chance to get the Sent with Love set and bundle! This set departs today…so get it before it's gone!
This is a fun card I created using the bundle, plus the Cloudy Day embossing folder. I pulled the colours from the Designer Series Paper – so in this case, Calypso Coral and Pool Party – both of which are now part of the Stampin' Up! core colour families!!
Today is also the last chance to grab the Spring Surprise Bundle AND the This and That Discounted Bundle – so get on it!

It's a two-fer today – a card sample and a Frugal Fridays tip in one! This card uses the Spring Surprise Bundle which is only available until April 30th. You get the stamp set and punch at a great price (15% off)! We used Wild Wasabi for this card, and I love Monochromatic cards (it's the theme of my first online class) because I don't have to think too hard about what colours to use…plus they're effective!
So that's one Frugal Friday tip – use one colour and still have a great card…but it's not the tip I am featuring today. I used the coordinating sized scallop circle punches on this card – and the scallop circle behind the "Thank U" image is the same Wild Wasabi cardstock as the backing for the main image area. THAT'S the Frugal Fridays tip!! See the picture below…
Punch the backing circle from your backing cardstock in an unobtrusive area (i.e. not right at the edge where it might show…). Noone will be the wiser…unless they deconstruct your card like I did to this one (because I forgot to take the photo first LOL), or unless they see this post 😉
Frugal Fridays Tips are a semi regular feature on www.yamstamps.com – designed to help you save some crafting time and money! If you want to "save" some more money…be sure to check out the retiring Stampin' Up! products in my online store – some of which are on sale up to 60% off!!

If you have been to one of my classes, you may have used these wonderful items on a project. I LOVE Stampin' Up!'s watercolour wonder crayons, but sadly, they've been discontinued. The Brights crayons and the watercolour pencils were on backorder and due to supplier issues, will not be available at all. The Regals, Neutrals and Subtles Watercolour Crayons will only be available while supplies last – so don't delay if you want to get some! Of course, if you order before April 8th, you can also take advantage of FREE shipping anywhere in Canada. Click HERE to shop now…
I always loved being able to colour in images and make washes for backgrounds, especially on watercolour paper. I felt so artistic (even though I did NOT do well at watercolour painting – but with stamping and these babies I could almost pull it off).
Which leaves me with one question….now how will I be able to fake looking artistic??!!!

Another card that can be used for Easter….or you could vary the colour scheme to use for another event such as a Baptism. The cross is heat embossed with gold powder, and the background is dry embossed using the Fancy Fan embossing folder and the Big Shot. I love also using the Brushed Metallic Gold cardstock as an accent. Still time to make this and give it to someone special at Easter!
Speaking of still having time…(what a smooth segue, eh?!) Stampin' Up!'s Starter Kit special has been extended until March 31st!! You can select $194 of merchandise and pay only $125. It's a fantastic way to get more bang for your buck! (hmmm should have posted about this on Frugal Friday, I guess?!)
