Fun and Funky Birthday Card

funky-bday-cardThis design originally was created for Annette, the June hostess in my Stampers Club who needed a “fun and funky birthday card”. After a bit of panic, this is what I came up with. I love how using different Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers and tools can create different looks for my projects. The combination of the This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper, with its grungy look, and the Epic Day This and That Washi Tape makes this card design more funky than my typical “clean classic” looking cards . The Label Love bundle contains the stamp set and coordinating punch for the sentiment. A bit of linen thread and it’s done. This particular piece of DSP has lots of descriptive words on it – so great for a scrapbook page or like in this case, a card for someone special.  Once again, if you’re looking for an easy cue as to colour combinations, look at the back of your Designer Series Paper package – it has listed the colours used within, so just grab those colours and you’re good to go! In this case, it’s Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral.

If you’re looking for a regular crafting opportunity, consider joining my Stampers Club! We always have lots of laughs while creating our 4 cards, and members get to budget out their purchases (and then splurge on their hostess benefits once during their 6 month stint!). Contact me to sign up. If you want to just dip your toes into the crafting pool, then perhaps the Monthly Card Class is for you. Each month, the first Wednesday is set aside as class night – we’ll make 4 cards using a variety of products and techniques, and your $20 fee includes all required product.  Payment is due at time of registration, and registration cut off is 2 days prior to event. Contact me for more information or to sign up for August’s class – Wednesday, August 7th.

An Exciting Day!

CRB-donationJust dropped off my donation for the Charles R. Beaudoin PS Silent Auction! I donated a package of paper crafting items (plus gift certificates – free class for 6!) for the Annual Barbeque. Later today, I’ll be doing final preparations for the Tansley Cares Event at Tansley United Church. It’s been a little while since we did this event and I’m looking forward to it! We’ll create cards that will be sent to people at various times during the year – significant events and times when people could use a bit of support or a boost. I’ll also donate 20% of product sales towards the Tansley Cares group. If you’d like to participate in that, email me with an order!

The other excitement is that new catalogue orders can start later TODAY! There’s an overlap – you can order retiring product until June 3rd, but you can start ordering new catalogue product May 31st (after 2pm eastern time)! So much opportunity to shop…..

If you’re in need of sentiments (and really, who isn’t…LOL) 25% off Sassy Salutations, Sweet Essentials and Petite Pairs starts today and runs until the end of June. I’ll post links later once everything is up live again (online ordering and catalogues are being updated as I type…)

Announcing My Online Classes!!

Woohoo! I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my online class service. This is something that has been in the planning and prep stages for a while, and here it is! If you've ever wanted to attend one of my classes but the time didn't work, or you're not local to me, this is the option for you! Each online class that I offer will feature exclusive projects that you won't see anywhere else. Included in your $20 (Canadian) class fee – LIFETIME access to the videos, photos and information to that class – you will be able to go back over the information as many times as you want/need. As the tagline says – Paper Crafting Classes Wherever You Are, Whenever You Have the Time. Since the classes are online, you won't receive any materials to create the cards themselves, but there is a complete supply list for each project. If you're in Canada, I'd be happy to help you out there with my online Stampin' Up! store, but if you're accessing the class from anywhere else in the world, you can contact me to see about getting in touch with a demonstrator in your country.

The main class information page is here: www.yamstampsmore.com

The first class I have up is "Monochromatic is Marvelous" where you'll find four projects complete with supply list and videos showing how to create each project. The specific class information page is www.monochromatic.yamstampsmore.com

Ornament Class

Ornament

*Note* I have updated this post to make corrections to the date!!**

This is a shot of the ornament I made in preparation for the Ornament Class on December 15th.(*note corrected date, it's the Saturday….)  I took it with me when I taped my appearance for Cogeco TV's local "FYI" show, and tweeted a photo of it beforehand….which….of course….guaranteed that we didn't get time to talk about it and I'm not sure if it even got camera time! The jinx continues LOL – every time I show a photo of something in anticipation, I seem to run out of time before getting to show it on air!!

Anyway – if you'd like to make one of these yourself, you now have a few options!

Come in person to my Ornament class in Burlington ON, Saturday, December 15th at 1pm. Registration required, fee is $25 and includes all materials required (and prepped) for you ahead of time. Contact me to reserve your spot. Payment due at time of registration. If you can't make it, you can get a class to go kit for the same amount; you will need adhesive (I used SNAIL), and a liquid adhesive or glue gun is helpful for final assembly.

Ornamental_Elegance_BannerOr…Stampin' Up! announced they have a number of kits available to make a simplified version of the ornament.

The Ornamental Elegance Kit is $17.95 and includes die cut ornaments – you need to supply a glue gun, adhesive and scissors. Supplies are limited.

Any way you choose to try it, there's really no reason NOT to! Contact me for more information, to reserve your spot or get your kit!

Last, but not least for today – new bundles!!

TreatBundlesCA_01

How fun are these packaging bundles? Two choices – the Petite Treats Bundle on the left or the Trimmings and Tags Bundle on the right

Take advantage of the bundle pricing and save! To ensure that your order arrives before Christmas, you will want to place your order by December 5th. If you are ordering print products from My Digital Studio, you will want to place your order by December 3rd. This allows plenty of time for shipping in a busy shipping time frame!!

Christmas Card Clinic Dates

I've posted 4 of the choices for the Christmas Card Clinics that I've scheduled for November.  The dates are: Friday November 9th, Saturday, November 10th, Saturday, November 17th and Wednesday November 21st. You choose which date works best for you, and which card you'd like to create. Cost is $30 for 10 cards of one design, $2.50 for each additional card of the same design thereafter. I've added an option this year for you to add on an order of Basic Pearls, Basic Rhinestones or a bottle of Dazzling Details for you to bling up your cards as you desire.

Card-Clinic-2

Here is one of the card options. I plan on posting a few more choices over the next few days as well.  The Clinic photo album is at the right on the blog, or try this link to go directly to the options.

The card clinic is a great way to get a bunch of cards done quickly and easily. Pick the design of your choice, I will cut and prepare all the materials and have them waiting for you on your clinic date. You come to my place in Burlington, stamp and assemble, and take your cards home to sign and mail! Beautiful handmade cards without too much fuss or muss.  I look forward to helping you spread the holiday spirit :)  Please contact me if you have any questions, or wish to register.  You can also register through the Yamstamps event page, through the paypal link.
