I love how using different patterns and items from the same coordinating suite of products can give a different look and feel to projects! Today’s die cut rainbow card has a softer feel than the previous rainbow cards I shared with you.
This one used the Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper, Brilliant Rainbows Dies (though not for the the rainbow!) and Iridescent Rhinestones like today’s project. Definitely a more bold colour theme
This one used the same Designer Series Paper – just different patterns! Also more bold and bright than today’s share. By using smaller pieces of the paper it’s a little more subtle. A little.
I guess I also like the rainbow theme because it’s going to be a few months until we see some around my home…and it’s a colourful theme, unlike the solid white/grey theme happening outside my window!
We are nearing the end of January (hard to believe) and a reminder that Sale-a-Bration runs only for two months – January and February only. If you’d like to grab the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper, it’s one of the Sale-a-Bration freebies you can select with a $60CAD product order, but you’ll want to order before 28 February to be sure that you get some before it’s gone!
Happy Sale-a-Bration to you! This is a fun card featuring sunshine and rainbows – and to make it even better – you can get the patterned paper on this card for free!
During Sale-a-Bration, for each $60CAD product that you order, you’ll receive a Sale-a-Bration of your choice for free! For a $120CAD product order, you can select either two Level 1 Items, or one Level 2 items. For $180CAD, you can select three Level 1 items, or 1 Level 1 and one Level 2 item…and so on, and so on, and so on! Please note that the $60 threshold must be within one order, and is before shipping/taxes are added on.
I love this grid layout for the patterned paper – it’s easy and effective. The strips are 1″ wide, and then I cut each strip into a 1″ square and 2″ strip. I added an Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewel for a bit of shine too!
If you’re interested in getting some Sunshine and Rainbows in your next order, you’ll want to visit the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store, or contact me if you’d like to pay by etransfer or for other assistance placing an order. Sale-a-Bration only runs until 28 Feb 2022 – so don’t miss out!
Wishing you all the best for 2022. I hope that you were able to connect with family and friends over the holiday season, despite all the challenges and changing rules we faced here in Ontario.
So here’s some news to cheer you up! Stampin’ Up!’s latest Mini Catalogues are now active! To be truthful, though, there’s nothing “mini” about the January-June 2022 Mini Catalogue. It’s full of new products to spark your creativity – and as a bonus, it’s also Sale-a-Bration!
The Sale-a-Bration Mini Catalogue houses all the free options you can select with qualifying orders until the end of February. For each $60 product ordered (in a single order, before taxes/shipping), you’ll be able to select a Level 1 Sale-a-Bration product for free. If you order $120 product, you can either select two Level 1 products or one Level 2 product that’s only available at the $120 level. There’s no limit to how many items you can earn!
A lot of the Sale-a-Bration items coordinate with products in the January-June 2022 or Annual Catalogues – like the fun Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper pack – one of my favourites, which ties in with the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle from the J-J Mini Catalogue. Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have had a month to check out the new products before they went “live” today (one of the perks of being a demo!). I’m on my second pack of these papers already…because who couldn’t use a bit of sunshine & rainbows in their life, especially right now?!
I used Stampin’ Up!’s Counting Sheep stamp set and coordinating Sheep Dies to make this fun balloon birthdaycard – a non-sheep based project!
The Counting Sheep stamp set and the Sheep Dies are both Level One Sale-a-Bration items – so you can pick one of them with a $60CAD product order (before shipping/taxes) – so if you wanted both of these items and didn’t want to wait, a $120CAD product order would entitle you to two Level one items – so you could get both (plus enough supplies to make a whole bunch of these cards!).
My favourite feature on this balloon birthday card is the balloons (hence the title of this post!). I die cut them (the Sheep Dies include a balloon die) from the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum. I think that the translucent shimmer makes for some realistic type balloons – and I made sure to overlap the balloons to show off the their translucency. I used the Adhesive Sheets on the back of the Vellum (and there is definitely a back and front to this vellum) so that when the balloons are adhered in place, you really can’t see any evidence of the adhesive at all. Love it!
Sale-a-Bration runs until September 30, 2021, but Stampin’ Up! have advised us that certain items will not be guaranteed until the end of the period – the Sheep Dies are one of them – so if you have your eye set on them, or want to create your own Balloon Birthday Card, you’ll want to be sure that they are one of your first Sale-a-Bration picks…and save some of your others for your later orders. Woohoo! There’s a new Mini Catalogue available today PLUS it’s Sale-a-Bration again!
First things first….the July-December Mini Catalogue is live! No, you didn’t miss anything – this catalogue’s start date was pushed back for a month. Stampin’ Up! made the decision to delay the start to allow for product and shipping slow downs due to that global pandemic that is ongoing… You can check out the digital version of the July-December Mini Catalogue here; shortcut is https://yamstamps.com/jd21 Despite best planning, there are still a few items that are not yet in the SU warehouses – the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Card Pack and Cards & Envelopes, and the Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper. This impacts their associated Suites – you know, the “Easy” button that uses one code to get all the products in one suite. For the time being, you won’t be able to order the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite, nor the Blackberry Beauty Suite. You WILL be able to order the other items in the suite without issue, though, it just means a lot more typing! LOL. (Or message me with your order, and I will do all the entering for you!!).
Next up…it’s time to Sale-a-Brate again! It’s the Summer Sequel! August 3 – September 30, when you place a $60CAD product order (before shipping/taxes), you’ll get to pick a free Sale-a-Bration item! There’s a couple of items that are available at the $120CAD level too. There’s a few items that won’t go on back order – when they’re gone, they’re gone. These are the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper, Sheep Dies and Summer Shadows Dies – so if these have caught your eye, be sure to redeem for these ASAP. You can see the digital version of the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue here – shortcut is https://yamstamps.com/summerSAB21
As always, the shortcut to shop is https://yamstamps.com/shop from anywhere in Canada. If you need assistance placing an order, want to pay for your order with an etransfer, or want more information about becoming a demonstrator with my group, you can email me and I’d be glad to help. In the meantime – Happy Sale-a-Bration!
Seems like an appropriate type of card to make these days, doesn’t it? An “I Miss You Card” is one to send to someone who doesn’t live close by, or to someone you haven’t been able to meet up with because of current circumstances. This card also has a neat design feature that makes it easy to make easily customizable cards.
I made this card using products from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue (J-J Mini because too much typing) and Sale-a-Bration Catalogue. It’s a little hard to see in this photo, but the background cardstock is embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder from the Fine Art Suite in the J-J Mini. It gives the cardstock texture, without the mess of embossing paste (or the drying time). I cut a strip of the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (Level 1 Sale-a-Bration option), tapped the top and bottom edges into my Versamark Ink Pad, then heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I wrapped some of the 3/8″ Fine Art Ribbon around the bottom edge of the paper; can you see the gold flecks in the ribbon? Love it!
So my card design hack? I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of Vellum Cardstock, cut slightly larger than the Designer Series Paper (but narrower than the White Textured Cardstock). I then adhered it between the layers with the sentiment showing underneath. This is a great way to add whatever sentiment you might need for your card sending occasions without pulling a lot of focus from the other elements of the card. My other design hack on this card – no knot or bow on the ribbon so that it’s easy to send through the mail.
It’s easy to change up this I Miss You Card by changing the Designer Series Paper strip or the sentiment on the vellum…and if you need some more patterned paper options (including the one shown on this card), you may want to get in on my January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue Designer Series Paper Share. You’ll get 1/4 of each of the packs included, plus the 3 Sale-a-Bration papers! You can check out more details about the share here or contact me for payment links. Cost is $55CAD plus actual postage costs if shipping is required (otherwise porch pick up in Burlington ON).
In the meantime, we all continue to cope as best as we can with the current situation. I hope that you’re hanging in there and able to take a few moments for yourself. For me, current self care includes music and shows that don’t require too much of me and aren’t too stressful. For those who have met me before, you’ll realize that this has not really changed…LOL though perhaps the amount media being consumed is slightly higher than usual. Happily, I can also usually multitask and can craft or prep for Stampers Club while listening/watching, so it makes me feel slightly productive. Slightly. Thanks for stopping by the YamStamps Blog!
