Wishing you all the best for 2023 – let’s Celebrate You this year!
Happy New Year! I hope that it brings good things for all of us. I also hope that you had time to enjoy the holiday season! I was fortunate enough to have some time off from my “other” job after Christmas so I was able to relax a bit, and also was able to see extended family – some of whom I hadn’t seen in person for a few years!!!
As I write this though, I’m trying to gear myself up to get going again – but it’s hard since every day has felt like a Sunday for the past week!! It’s not a bad thing, but it’s definitely disorienting, and I have trouble knowing the day/date on a regular basis anyway…
I had the luxury of time to be able to do things like…clean up my office (long overdue, and how many pens do I actually have??!!!) though it’s already starting to get a little messy again. I did also do a bit of craft room clean up, but honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming sometimes so I do a bit, and then make some cards and make a mess again….LOL. However I did get some things done there – like these “Celebrate You” Cards!
These are some cards that I bulk produced over the break – for members of my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator group known as the “Eh” Team! I did a bit of “catch up” over my break and sent out my “Eh” Team Rewards inside these cards. (If you want to find out more about joining my group of demonstrators, you can check out the information at yamstamps.com/join or message me). I definitely wanted to send a “celebrate you” message to them at the start of the year!
This celebrate you sentiment is great – and it’s made by combining partial sentiments in the stamp set Sentimental Park that’s in the January-April Mini Catalogue. I used Coastal Cabana and Fresh Freesia ink (pulled from the Designer Series Paper colours). This card’s colour scheme just makes me happy – I’m a blues/greens kind of girl, so this is my colour palette! The patterned paper is the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper that is available as a Sale-a-Bration freebie – you can select it for free with a $120 CAD product order. Both the Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration are in effect as of THURSDAY, 5 JANUARY 2023. I put it in caps because I want to highlight that it’s not yet available. Just a few more days! (I’ll come back and update this post with links once the catalogues are live).
I love clean and simple designs, and this is definitely in that category, but I think because of the busy paper and details on the stamped sentiment, it distracts you from the fact that the design is quite straightforward. Not that there’s anything wrong with straightforward designs! They are my go-to! I like having a pattern that I know works, and then I can just change it up with whatever I have on hand for whatever occasion! I like my crafting to be easy and effective.
Something’s Coming…
If having a blueprint for your crafting is something that sounds helpful for you, you’ll want to check back on Wednesday – or better yet, be on my mailing list, because I’ll be sharing details for a new program I’m offering – designed to make your crafting easier and more fun. No More Crafting Brain Strain!!
In the meantime, I’m off to see if I can find a clear tabletop area in my craft room to come up with a few more cards that I will need in the next little while…
I know, it’s still summer, but I have good reason to share this silver snowflake card right now!
Really! This Silver Snowflake Card features some Sale-a-Bration paper that is only available until the end of August (or while supplies last) – so I need to share this with you sooner rather than later….
This is another quick and easy card. I think silver is perfect for a snow card, though you could choose to go with gold, because that’s the other tone in the Silver & Gold 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. You can select this for free with a $60CAD product order. I teamed it up with some of the Silver Foil Specialty Pack – which is ALSO now part of the Sale-a-Bration product line! You can select it with a $60CAD product order (purchase $120CAD worth and you can get both of these paper packs!). Please remember that if you are choosing the Silver Foil as your Sale-a-Bration freebie – that you select the correct item code – because it’s different than the regular catalogue code. If you’re shopping in the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store (shortcut https://yamstamps.com/shop), the SAB option has a pink banner on it. (see the image below)
Once Sale-a-Bration is over at the end of August, you’ll still be able to get the Silver Foil by purchasing it on a regular order, though it’s not quite as fun as saying “I got this for free!” LOL.
The snowflakes on the silver snowflake card were die cut with the Frosted Flurry Dies. These dies coordinate with the Joyful Flurry stamp set. Some of these dies do partial die cuts – like the Pretty Pop Ups Card that I shared with you here. These small snowflakes are a full die cut, though, so made some cute accents for the cardfront.
This silver snowflake card is part of my quest to bring a seasonal holiday card to each Stampers Club session until we hit December! Nothing like having a small stash of special cards that you can give to special people. If you’re interested in joining us in Stampers Club, it’s a great way to budget out your craft spending, make some fun projects and learn some new techniques – and get free product! You can read more about Stampers Club on the YamStamps Events Page. We are currently continuing to meet virtually, so while it’s not quite the same as crafting together in person (which we will resume at SOME point in time), there are some advantages. One is that you can join from wherever you are in Canada! The other is that if Club Members can’t make the “live” Zoom class, they can access the recording on our members only site at their convenience. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to join us!

Happy August to you! I hope you had a great long weekend. (Or a great regular weekend if you are not in Canada…) The month started yesterday, but there’s some new things starting today in the Stampin’ Up! Canada world!
There are new choices for Sale-a-Bration rewards until the end of August! These are items from the regular catalogues, however, they have special item numbers that indicate they are Sale-a-Bration freebies. These are in addition to the Sale-a-Bration items that are in the catalogue and available while supplies last. Please note that the Soft Sea Foam/Pool Party Cards & Envelopes, and the Tree Farm Dies are no longer available.
The Making Plans Collection is available for free in July & August while supplies last!
I am an admitted planner addict. I love planners and I typically have at least 3 on the go. (Yes, probably too many). I have one for my healthcare job, one for my Stampin’ Up! business and one for almost everything else. So I was happy to be able to preorder the Making Plans Collection last month! Demonstrators were able to buy this before it was available this month as part of the Sale-a-Bration Starter Kit.
It’s an undated 18 month planner that you assemble (check out my video showing it below), plus an exclusive stamp set, stickers and 3 notebooks. I actually have to “use” the stickers and not hoard them. This is what I keep telling myself….LOL.
One more reminder – all Sale-a-Bration items are available while supplies last – and that includes this planner. So if you’d like this bonus on top of the deals in the starter kit (check out more information here), don’t hesitate!
Happy Planning! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Making Plans Collection, the starter kit, or any advice as to how I can stop the need to purchase more calendars and planners?!
Make an easy and elegant decorative beaded element to dress up your next card or project!
Have you seen the Effervescent Elements in Stampin’ Up! Canada’s 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue? They’re one of my favourite new products! I used them to create a beautiful decorative beaded element for a recent card design.
Word of warning, though. If you’re going to use these, you’ll want to work with them inside a box lid or something that will contain them – because they TRAVEL. I used the tray from the new Embossing Kit (available starting tomorrow in the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2022 Mini Catalogue).
I used them to create a beautiful decorative beaded element on a card that I designed featuring new product from the July-August Sale-a-Bration catalogue (starting tomorrow too!).
The card was for a recent Demonstrator-only card swap. I feature some of the cards I receive in these swaps on the Sunday Swap Feature on the YamStamps Facebook Page and on the Sunday Swap Page here on the YamStamps site. Here’s the card I made – featuring the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper that is part of the bundle that you can select for free with a $120 product purchase during July and August Sale-a-Bration.
I used an adhesive sheet to cover the Designer Series Paper, and then after cutting to the size I wanted, I removed the liner and added the beads onto the sticky surface. I liked using the patterned paper underneath because I think it adds extra dimension to the beaded piece – plus if I happen to lose any beads, it still looks pretty and the gap isn’t overly obvious because of the underlying pattern.
I tend to like shiny things but I also dislike any crafting that’s too messy (glitter being the prime suspect here) – so the Effervescent Elements beads are okay in my books – as long as I use them in my powder tray or a box lid. Even if they run away a bit, I can pick them up and put them back into the container without too much of a fight.
