Pretty Pop Ups Card

Create a Pretty Pop Ups Card using the Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pop Ups Dies!

This pretty pop ups card is much more easy to create than you might think – all it takes is one pass through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to make this intricate looking card!

The Pretty Pop Ups Dies are a set of dies that create partial die cuts, and they emboss too! There’s additional individual pieces that can be used to accent the main dies.

Honestly, the thing that takes the most time on this relatively quick card is “fluffing up” the cut sections! I started by running my die brush tip attachment for my Take Your Pick Tool on the backside of the die cut, then used my fingers or bone folder to make a more firm crease.

I wanted a more monochromatic look for this pretty pop ups card, but I wanted that colour accent to catch your eye – a pop of colour for the pop up!

I used Very Vanilla as the main cardstock, then the pop of colour comes from Polished Pink Cardstock – though obviously you could choose whatever colour you prefer! I cut the Accent cardstock slightly smaller than the die cut piece to keep the focus on the hint of colour through the die cut areas, rather than having a coloured border around the edge (which I often use as a design element).

I always like easy and effective projects – so this ticks the boxes for me! If you want a project that takes a little more time and effort, though, may I suggest that you sign up for my Fantastic Fancy Folds Online Class? It’s currently in Pre-Launch pricing – so you save $10 off the regular $30 (Canadian) price if you register by the end of Wednesday 10 August. The class page will be available on Thursday 11 August. It features four different fun folds that look impressive but aren’t as difficult to make as you might think…though they will take a bit longer to create than this Pretty Pop Ups Card! (but since I’m the one offering the class, it’s still not going to be overly complicated!) Click on the link to get more information about the class and to register, and as always, please contact me if you have any questions!

Fantastic Fancy Folds!

My newest Online Class, Fantastic Fancy Folds is launching next week – but you can save now!

Early Bird Pricing is now available for the Fantastic Fancy Folds Online Class! Prelaunch pricing means you save $10 if you register by the end of 10 August 2022. The class page will be active as of 11 August 2022, and like all my Online Classes, you’ll have lifetime access to the videos.

This class also marks the new pricing structure for my future online classes, which will now be $30CAD each, however, the Early Bird price, typically available the week before the class officially opens, will remain at $20CAD. This means you actually save more if you purchase during pre-launch!

I had fun figuring out which four projects to include in the Fantastic Fancy Folds Class. I love how they look so complicated, but when you break it down, they’re actually fairly straightforward. Each project only requires basic paper crafting tools – Paper Trimmer/Scorer, Bone Folder, Adhesive…. You can customize each project based on your stash of cardstock and patterned paper, and embellish with your punches, dies and stamps. I list all the supplies that I used for my prototypes for your information, but they are not what you may choose to use for yours!

A bonus – each card will fit into a regular, Medium Stampin’ Up! envelope, which means you won’t be hunting around for off sized envelopes or having to make an envelope after making the card. What are you waiting for? Sign up for class by the end of day Wednesday, 10 August 2022, and save $10 – you’ll also be first in line when class launches Thursday 11 August.

Fun Card for a Celebration!

Another way to use Effervescent Elements – this fun card for a celebration!

I shared a fun beaded accent element previously – using Stampin’ Up!’s Effervescent Elements – two sizes of microbeads that are iridescent. Here’s a fun card for a celebration that uses them as well!

overflowing effervescence
Overflowing Effervescence Card

This card uses the discounted Bottled Happiness bundle which includes the Bottled Happiness stamp set and coordinating Vintage Bottle Punch. I’ve also used the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes which are sized for the Punch.

The domes have adhesive on both sides of their frame edges, so one side sticks to the underside of the cardstock hole, and then the other side can be put against your other layer or another piece of cardstock to seal the dome closed. For this card, once I’d stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss, I punched out the bottle shaped hole, and then inserted the dome into place. I filled the dome with Effervescent Elements and then sealed it closed with a piece of Window Sheet. If I was more confident with how I could line up my backing Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper, I could have just put that in place. But I’m not. So I didn’t. Aiming for success!!

fun card for a celebration – close up

Once my bottle was sealed, THEN I placed everything onto the backing Designer Series Paper (and Blackberry Bliss cardstock layer). Once it was on the cardfront, I then used my Multipurpose Liquid Glue at the top and a bit at the bottom of the bottle. I used the fine tip end so I could “draw” with the glue and control where the beads ended up. I sprinkled on some more Effervescent Elements over the wet glue and patted them into place, then let everything dry.

You get a lot of those beads in a container of the Effervescent Elements, so you can use them freely on your projects! For this card, I wanted the bottle to seem like it was overflowing, so I packed them into the dome. If you would rather, though, you could put in less and create a shaker card with more movement to it. That’s the fun when you’re making your own cards – you can customize them however you’d like and to suit the recipient!

If you’re interested in learning new techniques or creating on a regular basis, I have a few options available right now. One is my Virtual Stampers Club – open to anyone in Canada. We meet monthly and create four different projects together. Over a six month membership period, you’ll be able to spread out your crafting purchases and receive host benefits (aka free product) once during that time! Check the YamStamps Events Page for more information, or contact me.

My other option is an Online Class. I have a number of Online Classes available, and aim to produce one each month. The most recent one was Cards That Will Move You, and I’m working on another Fancy Fold Class for my August release. If you’re on the YamStamps Mailing list, you’ll be notified when classes are available or on sale! You can learn at your own pace and will have lifetime access to the class videos. Check the YamStamps More Page for more information, or contact me.

Until then – Happy Crafting!
