Wishing you a very "Happy New Year"! This is the banner that I took to the CH Morning Live appearance, but I'm not sure that you could see it very well on the front of the table we were working on…so here it is again for your viewing pleasure! I used the Big Shot to die cut the pennants and the letters, so it was super easy to create. The hardest thing was figuring out how many of each letter to do – I like to do as few steps as possible, so I cut all the "E"s in one pass, etc. The Big Shot and Bigz dies are heavy duty enough to handle cutting multiple layers of cardstock easily.

I looooove these little top hat party decorations! I think they were my favourite project from my TV appearance the other morning. I showed how to make these on air, so hopefully you got to see the CH Morning Live show. (I'll also be posting a link once I get the video uploaded). What I didn't mention on air is that these can be filled with candies as party favours. I did show how you can add a curly label extra large punch out so that you can use the hat as a placecard. Easy to whip up a few of these in time for your New Years Eve party!

I thought I'd post this picture of one of the items I'm taking to the CH TV studios tomorrow morning – I'm slated to appear on CH Morning Live somewhere around 8:10 or 8:20 am. I've been lucky enough to have been asked to be on the show again – this time, showing some easy DIY party decoration ideas – just in time for New Year's Eve!
I'll be sure to post more pictures of the projects I'm sharing on air, and will hopefully be able to get a video of the appearance as well, so be sure to come back to www.yamstamps.com to see everything!
I'm also preparing my first newsletter of the new year, so if you haven't already, please be sure to sign up (box is at the top left of the yamstamps.com site or click here) so you don't miss all the fun & information!

Nov 30, 2010 | Announcements, rubber stamping, Seasonal Catalogue

This "love"ly card is made using the Filled with Love set from the Holiday Mini Catalogue. I used the Sizzix adhesive sheets to put adhesive all over the cardstock punch out, and then applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the adhesive. I like how the colour shows through the glitter. I punched the adhesive sheet with the Scallop CIrcle punch (it's really easy to punch these sheets). I carefully peeled off the backing sheet (with the words on it) without touching the adhesive surface and placed it onto cardstock, then re-punched the cardstock. I peeled off the other liner, then glittere for a sparkly accent piece!

My friend Amber & I completed our first race today – a 10km! Amber had a lofty goal of finishing in under an hour. I quite frankly, just wanted to finish….but was aiming for a time of 1 hour 5 minutes. It was a cool day, windy at times, but we managed! We've been doing 10-1 intervals – meaning 10 minutes of running and 1 minute of walking, repeatedly. We started out rather fast, and did slow down near the end…well…I did at least LOL. However, I finished faster than I'd hoped (not sure what the exact time was but it was under 1 hour 5 minutes – by a couple of minutes or so!) and Amber broke the hour mark. It was a fun and great experience…though I did have a quick nap this afernoon LOL.
Here's some photos from the day – and thanks to my mom (aka "Grandma") and my son for coming to cheer me on – that's part of the reason for my big smile near the finish line – seeing D cheering for me!

Here we are, looking happy and excited at the start line…

Approaching the finish line. "Upright and smiling" for sure!!

The posed after shot 🙂
but I had to include the next shot because it makes me laugh – this is more what we really were like, I think!!!!

Amber's talking I think, but I'm just happy to still be upright – I think this was literally a minute or two after I crossed the line. I think Amber's holding me up…ROFLOL.
Thanks for looking, just wanted to share this part of my running journey with you all. Back to crafty stuff in the next post, promise!!
