Hello….

_DSC0542

It’s me….with a card….that I SWORE I had shared already but now for the life of me can’t find it…. Anyway….this uses the gorgeous Timeless Textures stamp set, available in clear mount or wood mount. Combined with the Hello You thinlits, it makes for a lovely artistic card, good for males or females. The card base is Lost Lagoon, one of the 2014-2016 In Colours, which means it will be leaving us soon *sniff*. Early Espresso and Crumb Cake are the other colours featured on the card. We found that the Die Brush was useful in popping out the die cut, and one layer of wax paper between the cardstock and die also made it quick to remove.

If you like Lost Lagoon, NOW is the time to grab more of it – before it’s gone! Don’t wait until the official retirement announcement. The retiring In Colours go quickly, and often are the first items to go. You can shop online and place your order, or contact me if you have questions, or need assistance.

Don’t forget to enter my retiring list contest – everyone who enters gets a $5 gift certificate to use in May!

Be a Winner – Just Like Kate!

LY-4087

It was SUCH a busy weekend but a lot of fun too! I had a booth at the Kitchener Scrapfest on Friday and Saturday. Lots of people came by (thank you if you were one of them!), looked, shopped, entered the draw and did my free make and takes. This photo is Kate, who won the free draw for a Big Shot! I understand she’s got a group of friends who will help her make sure it gets plenty of use. I was just as excited as she was….because she was still around when I did the draw so I didn’t have to take it home again and ship it out to her!

Thanks also to the people who volunteered to help me out, and those who were able to make it to help me out!

Leanne, one of my wonderful members of my demonstrator group, Suzanne, who loves Stampin’ Up! and teaching, and Kat, my “non-crafty” cousin who helped with customer service and cleaning up my booth (and introduced me to the fantastic food from Arabesque).

If you would like your chance to win something…..my annual Retiring List Contest is back!

HOW TO ENTER:
Send me an email with your list of 10 stamp sets that you believe will be retiring from the Annual Catalogue (No hostess sets, no Occasions catalogue sets) by FRIDAY, APRIL 15. The person with the most correct guesses will win a $25 gift certificate from me! Get all 10 correct, and get a $30 gift certificate! In the event of a tie, I will randomly draw the winner. I reserve the right to close the contest early. If the winner is outside Canada, gift certificate may only be used for online classes, not merchandise, as per Stampin’ Up! regulations. Offer good only through me, Linda Yamamoto / YamStamps, Independent Stampin’ Up! Canada Demonstrator.

Good luck!!

LAST set of Stampin’ Up! Canada Weekly Deals

weekly deals

Stampin’ Up! is changing things up! This is the last set of Weekly Deals that we will see (but we get extra time to take advantage of them!). After this, we will see less frequent but still fantastic Special Offers every few months. You can be sure that I will be updating you here on the YamStamps blog when those specials come around! In the meantime, please click on the image or click HERE to shop in the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store. If you’re going to the Kitchener Scrapfest, look for me in my booth (# 130) and you can place an order with me then….and enter my draw for a Big Shot!

My favourite pick this week was actually easy…because the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies are on this list! These are fantastic, beautiful detailed dies. I do recommend that you get the Big Shot Die Brush to use with this to make removal much easier.

If you have any questions, or need assistance placing your order, please don’t hesistate to contact me! Happy Shopping!

Newsletter and Contest Information Coming Tomorrow!

First of all, I apologize for the bit of radio silence last week – I was busy stressing out about my upcoming run!! I did the Around the Bay race once again this past weekend – it’s been a couple of years since I last ran it so I had a few more pre-race nerves than I expected, but I also learned to go in with few expectations other than to finish!

Here’s a group of us pre-run (look how happy we are….I didn’t smile as much until I finished LOL)

IMG_4071

If you can’t tell, it was a little chilly that day…though running 30 km does tend to warm you up a little bit… I am glad to say that I did finish, and actually did my fastest time yet in that race (surprised me!!). I am very thankful for my friends who encouraged me, pushed me and supported me through our training! (oh, and of course to my family who put up with me moaning and groaning aftewards LOL).

Tomorrow the YamStamps newsletter will be going out to subscribers, with the latest group of paper crafting ideas and projects, and a first peek at a time sensitive contest. I’ll post about it on the blog here after that! Be sure to be subscribed to get the scoop!

Stampin’ Up! Canada Cuts a Deal! (for a Week….) Last Chance for Sale-a-Bration!

weekly deals 29 mar

I love the latest group of Stampin’ Up! Canada Weekly Deals! Lots of items to make your paper crafting easier and more impressive! Three different dies for your Big Shot, the Gift Box Punch Board and some Metal Rimmed Pearls to fancy them up! I think my favourite pick this week might be the Hamburger Box Bigz Die – because it’s a deal…and because it could make some cute favour boxes for a party or a wedding?! Don’t forget also that this is the last Weekly Deal that falls during Sale-a-Bration, so with each $60 in merchandise that you order, you can receive a free Sale-a-Bration item – but only until the end of March. Please don’t leave it until March 31st at 10:30 pm…because if past years hold true, the system will be overloaded with “Last Minute Lucy’s” trying to get their orders in before the end of Sale-a-Bration! (This includes the Starter Kit….) You can shop online by clicking on the image or clicking this link, or by contacting me if you need assistance or have any questions. Happy Shopping!

Hippity Hoppity

Bunny Window Card www.yamstamps.com

Apparently it’s spring, and Easter is this weekend, though it’s snow/freezing rain around here and schools have been cancelled! So – if you need something to keep the kids occupied….consider some punch art! This fun card was created using the Friends and Flowers set (available in clear mount or wood mount), the Festive Flower Builder Punch and some circle punches! We used a couple of different sentiment sets – Hippity Hoppity is from And Many More (clear mount or wood mount) and the inside Happy Easter sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (clear mount or wood mount) – one of my most used sentiment sets for sure. The Designer Series Paper is from the Pretty Petals stack. The bunny is peeking through a window cut with one of the square framelits from the Pear Pizzazz card.

My favourite part about this card is the inside…

heehee!

Enjoy your “Snow Day” if you’re in the affected areas. Otherwise…happy Thursday! If you are looking for some more fun – try one of my online classes – if you like punch art, there’s a holiday punch art class that you could use to get a jump on your Christmas cards?!

I hope that you stay warm today, and if you’re going out, have a safe journey, and a wonderful Easter weekend with your family & friends.

Date Change – April All Occasions Female Card Class

botanical gardens jewelsHi All

Apologies, but I must change the date of the All Occasions Female Card Class from Thursday April 21 to Wednesday, April 27th. The good news is that it also gives you a few more days before the registration deadline, which is now moved to April 11th. I have contacted anyone who has already registered for this class about the date change. Still time and room to register! Class fee of $25 includes a package of the Botanical Gardens Jewels. See you in class.

Embellish Your Projects with Stampin’ Up! Canada’s Weekly Deals!

weekly deals 22 mar

Stampin’ Up! Canada’s Weekly Deals for the first week of spring are all sure to add some wow to your paper crafting! I always try to have a stash of Pearls and Perfect Accents on hand, and the silver ribbon is a great neutral ribbon to add “something” to your project, and of course, glitter always adds a pop! My favourite this week, though, is the Curvy Corner Trio Punch. When we first spotted it in the Holiday Catalogue, it was a big hit amongst my Stampers Club members and Class Attendees, so it was great to see that it was carried through to the Occasions Catalogue as well – and now it’s on sale! Remember that Weekly Deals are specially priced, in limited quantities, for one week only, so grab them while you can.

A reminder that I will have a booth at the Kitchener Scrapfest April 8-9 so if you’re attending, please be sure to drop by and say hello! I’ll have some adhesives and kits for sale, along with some retired product and we’ll have a free make & take while supplies last. If you would like to place an order to pick up that weekend, CONTACT ME by Monday, March 27th and I’ll have it waiting for you at my booth! (along with a special thank you!) As always, payment is due at time of ordering (Mastercard & Visa accepted).

In the meantime, I’ll be waiting for more spring-like weather to appear…though I hear that around the Burlington ON area, we’re in for some rain/freezing rain/snow in the next little while??!!! Sounds like good weather to stay inside and craft!

Just For You – Take Two! Butterfly Card

LY-0327

Do you remember this card that I shared with you previously? I shared a Thrifty Vellum Trick Video (you can see it at the YamStamps YouTube Channel) at the same time. Here’s the card that I made with the cut out piece from that – since it’s not thrifty to cut something out and then throw it away! It’s made with Stampin’ Up!’s Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes. Besides the vellum banner, we added a piece of Hello Honey cardstock, stamped with one of the Dotty Angles stamps, and a butterfly from the Watercolour Wings set die cut with the Butterflies Thinlits Dies. Added a touch of Gold Wink of Stella to the butterfly and to either end of the sentiment tag. Here, we just used a touch of SNAIL adhesive on the vellum behind where the butterfly was going to be attached to hold the banner in place but not be visible.

This is an example of a more feminine card, and we’ll be making four feminine cards for different occasions at the April Occasions Feminine Card Class. Your $25 class fee will include a package of Botanical Garden Jewels. We’ll use some in class, and you’ll take the remainder home for your other projects. Class Date is Thursday, April 21 at 7pm, and registration deadline is April 7th. Payment is due at time of registration – you can click on the PayPal button below, or contact me if you have any questions.
