May 3, 2018 | birthday, cards, Retired List, Stampin' Up!
Isn’t this a fun card? This is one of the cards you can make with the Perennial Birthday Project Kit and the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set (available in wood mount or clear mount). The kit will be retiring at the end of the month (or when supplies are exhausted), but the stamp set will be around for another year. This kit makes 4 each of 4 different cards quickly and easily! The most time consuming thing on this card? Might be a tie – poking out the little die cut slats on the background piece….or tying the bow around the strings! haha
This is what the kit itself looks like – the box that holds all the project items then doubles as a card box with dividers so that you can be prepared for upcoming birthdays! If you’re interested in grabbing this kit, you’ll want to place your order sooner rather than later. If you want to complete the cards exactly as shown in the kit, you’ll also want the Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive ink pads and the stamp set, though you could easily substitute other ink colours or greeting sets.
Stampin’ Up! is going to do a Colour Revamp with the new catalogue – so we’ll say goodbye to some colours that have been in the catalogue, and make room for some new ones! Plus, there’s a new design to the ink pads – and they’re stackable!
As you can see – there’s some old favourites coming back as core colours – many demonstrators were excited to see Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss on the list! And Flirty Flamingo leaves as an In Colour, but comes right back as a Core Colour. There’s also a new “Basics” Group that consists of Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Whisper White.
Last but not least….the In ColoursSo while we are sad to see some of our favourites leave, there’s lots to look forward to in the new catalogue! Demonstrators are able to order selected items from the upcoming catalogue this month so we can be prepared to share all sorts of new projects and ideas right away come June 1st! If you can’t wait for June 1st, you can join my demonstrator team NOW and select some of the new catalogue product in your starter kit! Details on being part of my demonstrator group here – or contact me for more information and the new catalogue preorder list! Otherwise – if yu’re local to Burlington ON, June 2nd is my New Catalogue Open House – rsvp to make sure there’s a copy of the catalogue waiting for you!

Isn’t this a great card? It was sent to me by one of my demonstrator team members, Arlene. Arlene was a longtime Stampers Club member who took the plunge just over a year ago and joined my team of demonstrators (we’re called the “Eh” Team!) – and her business is going great! Not bad for someone who was just looking to do something extra during the off season from golf…LOL. This gorgeous card features the Sale-a-Bration set Beautiful Peacock, and combined with a little Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper and Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies for this gorgeous result. (Check the YamStamps Facebook Page a little later to see another card using these products from another friend!).
I’m looking to celebrate all this week – well, at least until the end of the month, so you get the presents! Here’s how to get in on the birthday gifting….
1) Place an order before the end of the month, and receive a little extra “bling” from me (under separate cover, in most cases…) AND an entry to a draw for either a Big Shot or set of Stampin’ Write Markers!
2) If you place your order ONLINE HERE and either use host code CS2YEX9S OR place an order of $200 or more (which qualifies for Stampin’ Rewards), I’ll also send you a tutorial bundle at the end of the month via email
3) Join my group of demonstrators by the end of the month – receive the bling and tutorials AND an extra draw entry! More information on joining my group here.
Just a word of warning – PLEASE don’t leave it to the last minute! Traditionally the Stampin’ Up! site gets bogged down on the last day of Sale-a-Bration (this year – March 31st) – because everyone is trying to get in before the deadline! (Fine print – promotion valid only through me, and offer open to Canadians only due to Stampin’ Up! regulations)
If you have any questions, or need assistance signing up or placing an order, please feel free to contact me.
Mar 20, 2018 | birthday, cards, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!
When my friends and I get together to celebrate a birthday, there’s always lots of laughter. This Birthday Wit Card – using Stampin’ Up!’s Birthday Wit set (available in wood mount or clear mount) is perfect for my birthday card needs. It’s got a number of funny sentiments perfect for birthday cards – this is just one of them. Plus, you can get one of the items on this card for FREE as part of the last batch of Sale-a-Bration choices – do you know which one?
To create the rainbow effect on the sentiment, I used the brush end of the Stampin’ Write markers to colour directly onto the ruber portion of the stamp. Top to bottom, colours are Early Espresso, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Night of Navy…and I think Rich Razzleberry….and then Early Espresso again. “Huff” on the stamp (breathe like Darth Vadar) to make sure the ink is moist and then stamp onto your cardstock. Here’s a cheater tip for you – if you adhere your image on an angle, noone will be able to tell if your image isn’t perfectly aligned on the cardstock itself. (Now you are all looking at the image to figure out if it’s straight or not, aren’t you….) I did that on purpose, really. The Tutti-Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins easily add a little bling to the card as does the Gold 1/8″ Ribbon, (regular item / Sale-a-Bration item) which is included in the latest list of options for Sale-a-Bration freebies! Please note that there are DIFFERENT item codes for the non-exclusive Sale-a-Bration items (that is, items that you can also purchase individually) so be sure to use the correct code if you are placing an online order (otherwise you will end up buying it rather than getting it for free!). The background paper is one of the patterns from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue. I think the black and white is a great background for the colourful main image.
Don’t forget that Sale-a-Bration ends at the end of March, and you don’t want to miss out on grabbing some freebies! Place an online order of $200 or more OR using the host code CS2YEX9S and you’ll receive a bundle of exclusive tutorials via email! Please contact me if you have any questions or need assistance placing your order.

Jan 3, 2018 | birthday, cards, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!
Happy Sale-a-Bration! Happy New Year! Nothing like beginning the new year with new products. Stampin’ Up! Canada’s Occasions and Sale-a-Bration cataloogues are now in effect! The sample above uses the NEW Sale-a-Bration Level 2 set, Happy Wishes, which is available in either clear mount or wood mount.
That’s right, new this year – level 2 Sale-a-Bration items! As in previous years, for each $60 in product order (in a single order), you can earn a free Sale-a-Bration itme. This year, though, if you order $120 in product in a single order, there’s two exclusive Level 2 rewards you can select! One is the set above, the other is a set of thinlits called Celebrate You.
The other ways to be rewarded during Sale-a-Bration – you can either host a cardmaking party, or purchase the Demonstrator Starter kit! Hosts with qualifying total party sales will be eligible for extra Stampin’ Rewards, and new demonstrators will receive TWO additional stamp sets of their choice from either the Annual or Occasions catalogues! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to book a date to either chat about the starter kit or to host your own cardmaking party – or both!
Other items on this Z-fold card – the Petal Pair Embossing Folders, and some Pearl Basic Jewels that I coloured with the Pink Pirouette Dark Stampin’ Blends marker.
As always – you can shop online 24/7 in the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store, or please feel free to contact me if you need assistance placing your order or have any questions! Happy Sale-a-Bration!
Nov 11, 2017 | birthday, cards, Stampin' Up!
,
This metallic birthday card showcases Stampin’ Up!’s Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper – one of my current favourite papers. I love the elegance of the metallic designs and how they can be used for almost any occasion! I think that the pattern on this paper is like a stylized mistletoe….but because of the metallic colours I felt okay using it on a non-Christmas card.
For this elegant, easy birthday card, the greeting from Butterfly Basics (available in wood mount, clear mount or photopolymer) (one of the few sets available in all three stamp options) was embossed in Silver onto Whisper White cardstock. To keep the metallic theme going, the sentiment was then backed with Silver Foil and then placed on top the the Designer Series Paper. Clean and simple, and easy. Just my kind of crafting! I think that the clean lines and graphics also make for a great masculine card.
I apologize for the bit of radio silence over the last little while. I am currently attending the Stampin’ Up! On Stage Live event in Salt Lake City as part of their Events Council. I promise to write more later about this experience (once I’m allowed….and once I’ve recovered LOL). The last while has been crazy busy with preparation for the event itself. I did a presentation on Friday (well, technically 3 of them, since I had to repeat it at 3, 4 and 5pm) sharing an upcoming product suite and some ideas for how to use it in a class. It was a lot of fun once I was over the initial stress and nerves!
