My First “My Digital Studio” layout

First-mds-project-for-blog Guess what was delivered to me today?  Stampin' Up!'s new digital project program!  You can create digital scrapbook layouts, photo books, cards, dvds…

I just had to sit down and play with it for a little while.  Here's my first layout to share – a quickie – used a template, dropped in the photos (able to crop them in place) added in abackground, text and a "stamp" (the words 'sunny days') and here it is!  In all honesty, it took me less than half an hour, most of it spent making decisions on what colours to use and which accessories!  (In the end, I obviously didn't use that many accessories lol).

My first impressions – I find it easy to use.  If you have used Photoshop products, it will feel familiarto you.  If you haven't used Photoshop products, My Digital Studio is very user friendly & there are guides & tips all along the way.  You can use Stampin' Up! images, and embellishments to digitally enhance your digital photos.  Don't just let those photos sit in your computer – share them!!  My Digital Studio is available to my Stampin' Up! customers on October 1st.  Contact me for more information or to reserve your copy!!

Another CH Morning Live Project

Flip-flops Open-flip-flops

Thanks again to CH Morning Live for having me on the show yesterday, and if you're new to my site, welcomePlease be sure to sign up for my newsletter (see the box at the left) to get more project ideas and tips in your email inbox.

This is the fun flip flop mini scrapbook that I shared.  A cheap pair of flip flops disguises the accordian fold page within.  I used the Serif Essentials Big Shot Bigz Die to cut out the letters (or you could stamp them too) and then cut the photos to size.  My pages were about 2.5" wide, which is as wide as the flip flops, so you'll need to measure your flip flops to figure out which is the right width.  I used 2 lengths of cardstock to create the page above.

I'll post another sample tomorrow so please come back to www.yamstamps.com to see what's new!

A Scrapbook Layout during National Scrapbooking Month

2page-mom-layout One of these patterned papers is not like the other….remember that Sesame Street song?!  This is a 2 page layout from my Stampers & Scrappers Club.  The left page features the designer series paper (DSP for short) Urban Oasis; the right page does NOT.  Yes, I know they look the same (essentially)…  (You can click on the image for a larger view).

This particular DSP has lovely large images, but I wasn't sure if they'd work well for the die cut letters (too much white space showing)…so we made our own!  This also is a way to stretch out your DSP stash…  I used the stamp set Fifth Avenue Floral (which coordinates with this DSP) and the exact ink colours from the paper – basic grey, kiwi kiss and baja breeze.  We stamped all over some 12 x 12 white cardstock to create our own patterned paper for the second page of this layout!  We used strips along the borders, and then glued some to a piece of On Board Book Basics and ran it through the Big Shot with the Serif Essentials Alphabet.  The decorative oval accent on the journal block is actually the centre of the letter "O"!  (I'll have to repost that on Friday so it's an "official" Frugal Friday Tip lol).

Don't forget the National Scrapbooking Month Specials being offered by Stampin' Up!  Just a few days left…see my May 1st blog post about them, or click here to see the details and place an online order!

Interested in doing some regular cardmaking or scrapbooking?  One of the best ways you ensure some "me" time is to put it on your schedule – why not join my Stampers & Scrappers Club?!  New session starts in September.  Members meet monthly for a free club only class (four cards or a 2 page 12 x 12 layout), place a minimum order and take turns receiving the hostess benefits for club orders!  Contact me for details or to reserve your spot.

Spring Scrapbook Layout and Free Shipping!!

Sb-layout A spring-like scrapbook layout that was done at club recently.  Can you tell what my new "toy" is?!  The eyelet border punch – which is used everywhere on this layout – love it!!

Used the chalks on versamark (poppin' pastels) technique for a softer look for the page.  Sweet Always Designer Series paper makes the layout quick!!  The two pink panels are simply one of the sheets cut in half.  Too pretty to hide!

Supplies:
Cardstocks: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette
   Sweet Always Designer Series Paper
Stamp set:  Dreams Du Jour
Accessories:  Eyelet Border Punch, 1-1/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch

If you'd like to re-create this layout at home, click here to shop online or email me .  Better yet – place an order TOMORROW – MARCH 26TH and PAY NO SHIPPING!!  It's my birthday, and to celebrate, I'm paying the shipping & handling charges on ALL orders received that day!  You can order online at www.yamstamps.stampinup.net (I will reimburse your shipping charges) or email me with your order and phone number and I will confirm your final amount & get your credit card number! Don't forget your Sale-a-Bration selection with every $60 in merchandise that you order!!  Questions?  Contact me!

The fine print:  Free shipping only applies to Canadian orders received by me on March 26th, 2009 before midnight eastern time.  Sorry, Stampin' Up! regulations prohibit me from selling to non-Canadians.

February Scrapbook Layout

Feb-sb-layout Here's the February 2 page layout we did at Stampers & Scrappers Club this month.

We used Stampin' Up!'s Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' kit – love how EASY this makes creating coordinating pages or even entire books, since it includes cardstock, designer series paper and self-adhesive die cuts.  We also used the Big Deal Alphabet stamp set, again, makes titles easy, and the fact the the letters aren't all uniform makes it very forgiving and whimsical.  The hearts were punched with the full heart punch.  The large heart is actually the petal card Big Shot die, with two of the petals folded in to create a pocket.  You could insert a little picture or a love note here.  Obviously I have to do a bit of finishing on my copy….

In the meantime, don't forget that spring will soon be here!! (Not that you can tell from the sub-zero temps we're experiencing today in Burlington…)  My March class is on Wednesday, March 4th, and we'll be doing spring-like cards, with the hopes that the weather will soon cooperate.  See my class page for more information on all my upcoming events and for the easy payment registration!!

It’s All About Me…

Club-scrap-page-1-jan-09 This is the layout that the scrappers club did the other evening.  Page is kraft cardstock, with Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red Accents.  Images from Doodle This are in Sahara Sand, and the title is done with the Big Shot Naturally Serif (the smaller size letters) and Serif Essentials Alphabet (the "ME").  The letters were die cut from the textured cardstock; we swiped the ink pad over the cardstock for the letters ME to make the texture stand out even more.  The flower from Doodle This was done in Basic Brown on watercolour paper and coloured
Club-scrap-page-2-jan-09with the Aquapainter.  Lots of activity in these two pages!

A definition from Define Your Life is on the second page, along with some pretties from the Pretty Kit.  Recognize the covered chipboard?  It's from the Country Living Holiday Kit!  It's not just for ornaments – as you can see, they add a great touch to this scrapbook page.  The kit is HALF PRICE right now as part of the Inventory Blow Out special – running only until January 18th.  If you're keen to capitalize on this bargain, click on the "Shop Now" link at the top right of the blog, or go to my business website at www.yamstamps.stampinup.net  You can always contact me directly as well.

Oh, and the pictures are still to be added to this page….

The next session of Stampers/Scrappers Club starts in February – are you interested?  There are only a few openings, so contact me ASAP if you want more details, or are ready to reserve your club spot!
