Much like “YamStamps” has nothing to do with yams….Paper Pumpkin isn’t really about pumpkins either! Stampin’ Up!’s Monthly Paper Crafting Subscription Kit, Paper Pumpkin, comes to your door each month with all the supplies needed for that month’s craft. In the picture above is the April kit, which came with an extra gift of mini watercolour pencils! I personally love my Paper Pumpkin kit for quick and easy crafting on the go. I have taken a kit with me when I’ve gone away – easy to just tuck the box into my bag and I’ve got everything I need in case I have some down time to craft, or need a little creative “me” time. I know of people who have ordered them to make with their grandchildren, or have their own subscription and send another to their long distance family members, so they can still “craft together”.

What a busy weekend it was! Retiring after the weekend seemed like a good idea – but not in the permanent sense – only in the “I shall retire to my bed” thinking! haha. I am not retiring, but some Stampin’ Up! product will be (at the end of May)….read on to find out more.
Stampin’ Up! held Centre Stage and On Stage Events globally – the main event was in Amsterdam, but we had a local event in Toronto as well (there were others – across North America and the South Pacific). I was honoured to be asked to do a presentation on a new stamp set in the upcoming catalogue during the Saturday event….and that meant Friday rehearsal as well. So I trekked into Toronto on Friday afternoon to do a run through with sound and the cameraman while other helpers were busy completing set up for the big event the next day. Here’s a selfie that I shared on Instagram – with my head mic – just like Madonna/Britney/Beyonce…..
Friday Evening was the Centre Stage event for demonstrators at the Silver Elite level and above – basically, demonstrators with a certain number of people in their demonstrator group. We get a lovely meal, some training focusing on business or team building, and, yay, goodies. This year we got a fun apron and a stamp set…..plus a copy of the new catalogue.
Saturday was the main show – On Stage! A busy day full of fun – seeing friends from all around, meeting new friends, getting my presentation done and over with (phew!), making some fun projects….

So many highlights of the weekend, and of course one of (if not THE) biggies = new catalogue sneak peek! It’s a mixed blessing though, because with the upcoming new catalogue (June), there’s LOTS of fun new items….but in order to make room, a bunch of product has to retire. Again, a mixed blessing – some of the retiring product is available at up to 50% off BUT it is while supplies last. What to do?

Fun stuff coming up in April! We’ve been told there will be a free gift in April’s edition of Paper Pumpkin – and it will also be a kit designed by the CEO of the company, Sara Douglass! Paper Pumpkin is Stampin’ Up!’s subscription crafting kit. Each kit comes with everything you will need to create that month’s project. In the past, there has been a mini scrapbook, a frameable piece of art, cards, packaging…. Each kit features an exclusive project and stamp set! My personal favourites are seen in the samples above from the flyer. I love the Reverse Words stamp set (item 143316 wood or 143319 clear), and of course, the Glimmer Paper (item 143831)! You get 12 sheets – 4 of 3 different colours, in 6″ x 6″ sheets. Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum – they coordinate with a number of suites (coordinating products) from the Occasions Catalogue (Cupcakes & Carousels, Falling in Love and Succulent Garden) – but for me, they also scream “SPRING” and “EASTER”.
