Mar 13, 2014 | cards, Occasions, Stampin' Up!
This fun card was inspired by my friend Lydia. We used the Just Sayin’ bundle that features the Just Sayin’ stamp set (available in wood or clear mount) and the coordinating Word Bubbles framelits. The framelits were laid onto the cardstock and we spritzed ink over to give the silhouette/stencil effect. The corner rounder punch on the Envelope Punch Board ties the whole thing together (and was strong enough to go through the folded cardstock as well).
I hope that you are staying warm and safe with the crazy winter weather around Burlington. It’s a good time to stay inside, do some online shopping and crafting!!
Mar 7, 2014 | cards, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!

This birthday card is for that person who has that secret portrait of themselves hiding in their attic…you know, the friend that never seems to age?!! It features some of the fun Sale-a-Bration FREE product (see that catalogue here) that you can select with each $60 in merchandise that you order until the end of this month. The main image/sentiment is from See Ya Later, and the banners along the bottom are from the Banner Blast set, punched out with the Banner Punch. The good news is that the Banner punch WILL be available after Sale-a-Bration….but you’ll have to purchase it, not get it for free. I used the chevron banner pattern stamp to go with the Chevron Embossed Folder background. Colours are Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding. (Can I just say whoever named the In Colours for this year must have been hungry when they did so…so many of them are named after FOOD…which is not great when you’re stamping in between meals LOL).
Don’t miss out on your chance for free Stampin’ Up! product – in your new demonstrator starter kit, in your purchase or as a hostess! Contact me to get in on the deals – because you’ve only got 24 days until they’re gone!!
Last but not least, I was notified by Pinterest about how many of you pin images from www.yamstamps.com – thank you! (especially since my personal boards aren’t always up to date, ahem…apologies). I do have the buttons across the bottom of each post, but I know there’s many ways to pin a project, and I’m glad that you want to keep track of some of my projects!

I LOVE the Watercolour Wonder Designer Series Paper in Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalogue. (and yes, I know that it’s listed without the “u” in the first word, but I can’t bring myself to spell it that way. Canadian, eh?!). It’s so pretty and lets me get projects done quickly.
This centre easel card really only has one stamped element on it – the sentiment. The rest is the Watercolour Wonder DSP. The flower is layers of tissue paper punched with the Blossom Punch, and spritzed with a combination of rubbing alcohol and reinker. Also – did you notice that the one size of Basic Pearl Jewels Accents fits in the Candy Dot Brad Base??!!!! I was very excited when I figured that one out!
We did this card as part of January’s Stampers Club. Each month, club members get together for a free card class, and place their orders – and one member gets all the hostess benefits for that month. New members are always welcome, and it’s currently a 6 month cycle – so you are in club for 6 months, and at the end of the 6 months you may choose to continue on, or take a break and restart when you like. As a current bonus, Club Members have access to my Beta online group where all the projects and instructions are posted each month for reference. If you’re local to the Burlington area (or willing to drive a bit LOL), please contact me if you’d like to join us!
Feb 26, 2014 | Big Shot, cards, Stampin' Up!
Shocking, I know! My friend recently became a British citizen, after living there for over 15 years. She’s married to a Brit, and has British children and even has a weird hybrid Canadian-British accent. (Kind of like Madonna’s pseudo-English accent while she was living there…). Anyway. I thought I’d create a custom card just for this transplant to commemorate this occasion, and used my cardstock to come up with this design..

I created the Union Jack using Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White cardstocks, and die cut the maple leaf with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. Not a stamp in sight. I did ink around the edges of the maple leaf to make it stand out a bit more. I love that I can create such a custom card for my friend – doubt I could find one so appropriate in a card store…
If you’d like to find out more about making cards, (shameless plug follows) I do have monthly card making classes if you’re in the Burlington ON area. If you aren’t, then consider one of my online classes or my upcoming Inbox Inspiration program. The Inbox Inspiration program will be launching at the end of this week, so come back for more information then!

I love how Designer Series Papers make my card making so much faster and easier… This card uses the This and That Epic Day DSP – one of my favourites. It’s combined with the Perfect Pennants Bundle from the Occasions Catalogue that combines the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and the Banners Framelits Dies.
As with all my projects using DSP, I usually just look to the back of the packaging to come up with the colours I will use in the project – I just pull colours that are featured in the designs. In this case, it was Basic Gray and Calypso Coral. This is a card we made at Stampers Club, and I make a point to be sure that at least one card each month has a more masculine feel to it…otherwise we tend to go with what we like, which may not always suit for both genders.
I am finalizing the details for the Inbox Inspiration program which is set to launch in the next few days – so stay tuned for the launch announcement and all the details!
Feb 14, 2014 | cards, Occasions, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!
Happy Valentine’s Day! This is the card that I did on air with anchor Annette Hamm on Morning Live last week – using the Triple Time technique. It’s an easy way to make an impressive looking card that will have people wondering how you did it! If you need another look at how we did it, or more details, check out the video tutorial I did on the technique on the YamStamps YouTube Channel last year.
Sets used for this card include Peachy Keen from the Occasions Catalogue and See Ya Later from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue
I hope that you take a moment today to let someone know you care about them!!
