Christmas Card Sample – and Single Stamps!

Single-stamp-Christmas-cardThis is one of the fun cards we did in this month's Christmas Stamp a Stack. Using the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper as a background makes for a quick design. The image is a stamp from the Seasonal Sayings set, available in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday catalogue. The big news is that Stampin' Up! is trialling single stamp sales. You can purchase single stamps from a number of sets until January 2nd. So the Christmas image in the card (cropped a bit for the card design) can be purchased on its own! The card was finished off with a bit of Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon – used backwards so the plain side shows, Gumball Green cardstock cut with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits, and black Basics Glimmer brads.

In other news – you may have seen this if you follow my twitter feed or are a fan of the Yamstamps facebook page – I've got an app!! You can download the Yamstamps app for Androids HERE.  It's still awaiting final approval before it's listed in the itunes store for iphones. It's a free app and I'd love feedback on it!

Christmas Stamp a Stack #2

Christmas-ornaments-cardThis is the card I showed a sneak peek of earlier this week. We had a lot of fun at the Stamp a Stacks this week, and everyone went home with 8 cards and 2 tags ready for the holiday season – plus the remainder of Basic Rhinestone "bling" that they didn't use on their cards in class.

I love the Ornament Keepsakes Bundle from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday catalogue. Every single image has a coordinating framelit that you can use with your Big Shot to perfectly cut out the image.  We paired a couple of ornaments with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, added the bling and created a beautiful, elegant card for someone special. Well, for those who came to the Stamp a Stack, TWO someone specials since they get to make two of every card and tag.

If you're interested in building up your Christmas Card stash, the next Christmas Stamp a Stacks are in October – Thursday, October 18th in the evening (doors open at 6:30 pm), or Sunday, October 21st 1pm start. See the events page or contact me to register. Payment due in advance please & thanks.

Wow – end of the summer already?!

I know it's not "official", but to me, Labour Day weekend is the end of the summer. (I'm sure that many teachers & students would agree with me?! LOL). I hope that you have been able to spend some time with friends and family relaxing this long weekend!

Just a quick post to let you know that I've adapted the schedule slightly for my Christmas Stamp a Stacks – I previously added in some weekday evening times, and I have moved the December Stamp a Stack from Sunday December 2nd to Saturday December 1st, still at 1pm. This is because the Burlington Santa Claus Parade will be happening on the Sunday at 2pm, and my son will be marching with the Junior Redcoat band so I'll be out there supporting him as well.

If you are looking for some activities for yourself or your crafty offspring, please consider attending one of my many card classes, or hosting a class yourself! I have a variety of times available – please contact me to set something up. All you have to do is provide the people and I'll do the rest! It's a fun girls night out/in :)

Lastly – my monthly email newsletter will be sent out tomorrow morning, so be sure to be subscribed to get the latest issue!
