Getting Ready for….Christmas?!

Ornaments-cardThe first Christmas Stamp a Stack was yesterday – thank you to those who attended and got a jump on their holiday cards!  Each attendee received a full roll of the Real Red Stitched Grosgrain ribbon which we used on our projects. This is one of the cards we made.  Each Stamp a Stack will feature different projects and a different featured accessory as part of the class fee, and August's class will of course have some product from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday catalogue. I keep wanting to call it a mini catalogue, but have you seen the size of it? It's not "mini" at all!!!  If you'd like more information about the Stamp a Stacks, please feel free to contact me or see my events page here.

August's Card Class is THIS Wednesday – cost is $20 or free with a minimum merchandise order. We'll be making 4 cards (probably with some Holiday product, hint hint LOL) and it will be fun! I promise to boost the air conditioning so it will be a break from the heat outside!!  Contact me to register.  Can't make it that night? Consider hosting a private class for your friends – my place or yours!

Merry Christmas!!

Santa46I know….what?!!!  Just thought I'd catch your eye there. I've been working on my calendar for the rest of the year and I'm planning on doing a series of Christmas Stamp a Stacks.  Starting THIS MONTH, and running every month until December, you'll be able to attend and get a huge jump on all those cards you'll need for the holidays. Each Stamp a Stack will feature 8 cards (2 of 4 different designs) and 2 tags. If you register for 4 or more Stamp a Stacks, you'll be eligible for a special draw at each of the Stamp a Stacks that you attend – you could win a Stack of Stampin' Up! Supplies!  Please see my Events page to register. Payment is due at time of registration.  Registration for Stamp a Stack will be closed ONE WEEK prior to that month's date.  Contact me if you have any questions.

One More Holiday Post….then I’m moving on – promise!!

One-page-layout-ChristmasOne more page that I shared on TV. This is a "traditional" scrapbook page – done with a 12" x 12" sheet of cardstock and photos. I like graphic layouts that are symmetrical….can you tell?? For one – they're easy to create! This page highlights the tradition that my mother has of giving her _great_ nieces & nephews an ornament at Christmas. (I have to correct my journaling on the page, as I was informed that I only wrote "nieces & nephews" – have to get the generational context correct).

Is one of your resolutions to get scrapbooking?! Consider attending my scrapbook class on Friday, January 13th at 7pm here in Burlington. It will be a good luck charm, I'm sure! We'll create a 2 page layout that evening, and you can add your photos at home.  Cost is $25 and includes all your supplies, including adhesive. I'll have everything prepped & ready for you! All you have to do is RSVP. Get those memories down on cardstock before the details are forgotten!

CH Morning Live Appearance Video

I am so lucky to be able to work with the fantastic people at CH Morning Live on a fairly regular basis! I was invited to appear to share ideas about saving those holiday memories.

Thanks once again to my friend and tech guy Tom for capturing the video for me! If you can't see the link above view the video on youtube  HERE

Christmas Digital Scrapbook Layout

MDS-layout-ChristmasThese are pages that I shared on CH Morning Live on Monday. I used My Digital Studio and the Christmas Jingle kit templates. I love templates because they make my scrapbooking even faster.  I simply chose the photos I wanted to use, and then drag & dropped them into the template. I could re-size as I needed, and then added in my text and printed!  These pages coordinate with one another because the kit uses all the same colours, so you can mix up the order of pages or just use selected ones.  Half of my challenge with scrapbooking is getting started, so here, most of the work is done for me! I simply add my personal touches and then it's finished. The memories and stories are recorded, the photos are added, and it's there for all to enjoy. Much better than having those photos sitting in the hard drive (or on the camera's memory card) and trying to keep all those good stories in my head – because let's face it, MY memory is not getting any better…..

Don't forget to "like" the Yamstamps facebook page to get your free video AND your free digital download (see the link on the wall) before January 10th.

Holiday Greetings – two versions!! (and last chance to stock up?!)

Brushed-silver-cardHope you've all had a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus… I've had a wonderful time catching up with family and friends, and taking a few moments to catch my breath!

I thought I'd share my Christmas card design with you. If you've been following my blog at all, you'll know that I like to do cards that look great but aren't too finicky. This one suited me to a T! I used the Simply Scored tool to create a few score lines around the edge of the card, and then used my Big Shot to die cut a snowflake from Brushed Silver metallic paper. I silver embossed my greeting to create a tone on tone effect, which I really like!

Glimmer-cardI then had a brainwave as I had stocked up on some of the fantastic silver Glimmer Paper carried in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue – and this is the "bling" version of my card…not so much subtle elegance but more in your face! (still love it, perhaps even more…).

If you LOOOOOVE the glimmer paper like I do, you may want to stock up on a few sheets before they go – they don't appear in the Occasions Mini Catalogue (though fingers crossed they may make a future appearance in a mini catalogue or the next Idea Book?? No guarantees though!).  One thing that I _know_ will NOT be carried over (because Stampin' Up! has warned demonstrators already!) – the cute stocking builder punch! So if you fell in love with that punch, you may want to consider getting one before they disappear!!  The Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue sales period ends January 3rd – so place your online order HERE (take a look at the Clearance Rack while you're at it…) or contact me.
