What occasion will you be celebrating? Something everyday or something a little extra ordinary? The new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue is here and full of fun goodies! Click on the image to download the .pdf version of the catalogue, or check out the products in the YamStamps Online Stampin’ Up! Canada store here.
I’ll be sure to post some projects created with the Occasions products!
In the meantime, it was a bit more quiet than usual here on the blog and in my social media world….I took some time off and was lucky enough to go on a trip with my family! Guess where we went?? I’m going to be working on some scrapbook pages to commemorate our trip for sure.
This is not at Universal Studios Florida….this is actually at King’s Cross Station in London England! By the way the tube operator responded to my question, I’m sure he’s been asked MANY times about where to go to see Platform 9-3/4….all of us tourists!!
I promise not to inundate you with (too many) photos from my trip….LOL so don’t be scared away from coming back to see the YamStamps Blog!!

Here’s a sampling of the spooky projects (OK perhaps not spooky…) that I shared on Morning Live on Friday. I am always grateful to be invited back to the show to share some fun projects. Not so heavy on the rubber stamping, but lots of fun, still!
The mummy-wrapped box of candy – it’s a Smarties box – I used the smarties in some of the projects and used the empty box for this project. On air, it would have been way too noisy to use a full box! It’s wrapped in the natural 7/8″ cotton ribbon (I think I called it twill tape on air). A fun colourful card featuring the Bootiful Occasions stamp set.
The candy broomsticks, using the skinny cello bags and a fringed piece of cardstock, wrapped also with some Hallowe’en washi tape.
The paper piecing candy corn, the ghosts from the owl punch, and the little witch hat. I’ll try to get a video tutorial of how to make the hat up in plenty of time for you to create a few to share with special trick or treaters, or as a decoration for your Hallowe’en table.
I don’t have the bag toppers in this photo…because they got left behind! I will recreate them and take photos (or you can just check out the video below, on the YamStamps Youtube channel, or on the CHCH webpage LOL).
Happy Hallowe’en Crafting!

I’m set to show all sorts of fun items that you can make for your wedding day on CHCH TV’s Morning Live program at 9:15 today. I’m so appreciative of the opportunities that the cast & crew have given me to share papercrafting ideas and tips! When I was asked to participate in the show, I immediately started imagining all sorts of projects that I could share….but I need to keep it to a time limit and not overwhelm the viewers (to say nothing of myself!!). So I’m trying to keep it to the point, which in my case, is coordinating your stationery through colour, texture and/or images. If all goes according to plan, this post will appear just before I go onto air…
What I thought I’d do here on the blog, though, is share something else that you could use for creating wedding items (and something I’m not even planning on showing on TV….because we all know how that goes – I share it here and then don’t get to share it on TV because I run out of time!).
SO – I’m sharing some MDS products that you could use for your big day! I’m highlighting some digital downloads that you can purchase for use in MDS software or in photo editing software to create some professional looking DIY wedding stationery!

This is the Meant To Be Invitation Template. There is an invitation that you can customize to YOUR colours, and with your information of course! This template also includes a “Save the Date” card and RSVP card as well. You can edit and customize it, then send it to be professionally printed, or print it yourself! It’s a very classic style and the coordination helps present a unified theme.
There is also a coordinating Meant To Be Ensemble that features a thank you card, place cards and a pillow box template for favours. Again, you can choose to have your items professionally printed, or print them yourself. In the case of the place cards and pillow boxes, I’d probably be tempted to do it myelf, for sure.

Last but not least, to preserve your memories, there’s a photobook template. Drag and drop your photos, add your text and get it printed.
All of these items can be used in MDS (the program formerly known as My Digital Studio) which only costs $24.95 (make sure you use the link and have me as your demonstrator to get that pricing, if you go through the Stampin’ Up! store, you’ll pay $27.72). The download files are also available for use in other software, such as Photoshop or other editing software that can manage .png files, so there’s flexibility in that. (You can download both types of files, too, so you aren’t locked in one way or the other!). Don’t forget that MDS has a free 30 day trial so you can play around with the program before you make a decision (but really, for the price of a few grande lattes, why wouldn’t you just buy the program?! LOL). As well, if you have questions once you’ve downloaded your items, just like an in-person customer of mine, I can follow up with you to see if you have any questions about the product, or need any tips.
As always….if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Happy Valentine's Day to you! I hope that you are able to spend time with people that are special to you.
This is a quick and easy project that doesn't take too much to create – just some coordinating papers and accessories. You can form whatever shape you wish – in this case, I did a heart because it's for Valentine's Day – and punched a variety of circle sizes and hearts. I then threw in a few buttons for good measure. I don't like "naked" buttons but don't always have the patience to thread them, so in this case, I used some rhinestones and adhered them in the centres of the buttons. Use one of the Designer Series paper Stacks in one colour family to make it easy to have a cohesive look. Tada! A quick and easy decoration!
If you love to create things with paper, consider starting your own Stampin' Up! business. Right now is a great time – Sale-a-Bration means that you can get $194 worth of product of your choice for the regular starter kit price of $125! I hold get togethers for my group of demonstrators that are local to Burlington, but because my group includes demonstrators across Canada, I also use emails and a team blog to keep in touch with members. If you are interested in joining, us, please contact me for more information or read about the Stampin' Up! opportunity here.
Feb 13, 2013 | Big Shot, cards, Occasions
This is the Valentine's Day spinner card that I shared on CH Morning Live last week – the heart spins along the slot in the card. These spinner cards are fun to create and once you've made one, it's easy to make more! I've always used pennies as the weights to create the spinning effect – so if you're in Canada, grab those pennies before they disappear!!
This card features the scallop heart die from the Hearts a Flutter framelits behind the full heart punch and the Parker's Patterns Designer Series Paper. Accent is Itty Bitty Banners cut out with Bitty Banners Framelits.

Here's another version of a spinner card, using the set A Fitting Occasion and a Soda Pop Top (no cleaning required!) that was squashed using the Big Shot. Love that effect! Twitterpated Designer Series Paper on this one and accented with one of the stamps from Ciao Baby and the Petite Curly Label punch you can get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration!
Don't forget that today is Week Four (one month!!) of my Celebrate Sale-a-Bration emails. Today's project idea could be used for Valentine's Day! Email goes out at 1pm Eastern Time, so be signed up for my mailing list (if you aren't already!) before then so you don't miss out.

Sharing a couple more "love"ly cards that I received in swaps from Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference. Great for Valentine's Day or any occasion that you'd give a card to someone you love or to celebrate love! Both these cards showcase punches.
This first card doesn't have ID on the back of it – so if you created it, please let me know so I can give you credit! Anyway, I love the clean graphic nature of this card and glimmer makes it more fun! Texture and pattern make a simple card more interesting.

This fun card is from Karen Duke who credits Karen Yeomans for the design. The body of the fish uses the Ornament Punch and Delightful Decorations – not just for Christmas!
There are new digital downloads available today for MDS2 and photo editing software – including a new, FREE download! The Label This Designer Template download is FREE so that you can get your Stampin' Up! supplies organized! OK I have few excuses left for my messy crafting area, obviously. Will have to get to work on that! In the meantime, happy crafting 🙂
