You may have seen the little paper witch’s hat on the table during my recent appearance on CHCH TV’s Morning Live show. I thought I’d create a quick video tutorial on how I made this. It’s nothing elaborate, but it’s fun and fairly easy to create. If you can’t see the video embedded below, please click here to come directly to www.yamstamps.com or check it out on the yamstamps youtube channel.

Here’s a sampling of the spooky projects (OK perhaps not spooky…) that I shared on Morning Live on Friday. I am always grateful to be invited back to the show to share some fun projects. Not so heavy on the rubber stamping, but lots of fun, still!
The mummy-wrapped box of candy – it’s a Smarties box – I used the smarties in some of the projects and used the empty box for this project. On air, it would have been way too noisy to use a full box! It’s wrapped in the natural 7/8″ cotton ribbon (I think I called it twill tape on air). A fun colourful card featuring the Bootiful Occasions stamp set.
The candy broomsticks, using the skinny cello bags and a fringed piece of cardstock, wrapped also with some Hallowe’en washi tape.
The paper piecing candy corn, the ghosts from the owl punch, and the little witch hat. I’ll try to get a video tutorial of how to make the hat up in plenty of time for you to create a few to share with special trick or treaters, or as a decoration for your Hallowe’en table.
I don’t have the bag toppers in this photo…because they got left behind! I will recreate them and take photos (or you can just check out the video below, on the YamStamps Youtube channel, or on the CHCH webpage LOL).
Happy Hallowe’en Crafting!

Off to visit CHCH TV’s Morning Live again today to share some Hallowe’en ideas – I’m slated to be on air around 9:15 so hopefully you can tune in! Please be sure to check in to the blog again as I will be posting photos of today’s projects a bit later!

So – mark your calendars! This Friday, October 18th I’ll be on CH Morning Live sharing some crafty Hallowe’en projects. Should be fun! I’m not going to post ANY samples ahead of time, because when I do, that’s always the project that I don’t end up showing on air. We’ll see how that works for me this time LOL. My scheduled slot is 9:15 so set your PVR! (I’ll try to get a recording to share here as well).
In the meantime, I looooove the latest photopolymer set from Stampin’ Up! It’s called Endless Wishes and I just love the clean images and scripted words that are included in this set. Can’t wait to get my hands on one….and once I do you can be sure I’ll be using it for myself and for classes. Here’s the link to the flyer
If you’d like to get this set right away, you can place your order online and use the current hostess code WAUDSM7E. When you do, you’ll be entered into a draw to get the hostess benefits from all online orders placed! So if your order is less than $200, please use the hostess code – what have you got to lose? If your order is $200 or more, do NOT use the hostess code – you’ll earn benefits all on your own 😉 If you have questions, please contact me.
OK now to get back in the Hallowe’en spirit to prepare for Friday!

Happy World Cardmaking Day! Today we celebrate the art and craft of cardmaking, which of course leads (hopefully!!) to card sending. It used to be that we were thrilled to get an email and found things delivered by post very common – it’s definitely not that way anymore – it seems we are innundated by emails, and it’s thrilling to receive something in the mail (especially if it’s NOT in a window envelope…LOL).
I thought I’d do a quick video tutorial on basic cuts and layers for cardmaking that you can apply to any project. I must also admit, it’s a pretty “quick and dirty” video, both figuratively and literally! It was shot quickly…and if you watch it, you’ll see the “dirty” part (hint…I shot this video after card class and we used black ink at one point…check out my right hand?! LOL). Part of the reason it’s quick and dirty is also because I’ve been working on the not as quick and much prettier videos for my next online card class, which should be up and ready to go by the end of the weekend – so come back to see more information about that!!
Here’s the video – Happy World Cardmaking Day! If you can’t see the embedded video below, come directly to the post on yamstamps.com or check the yamstamps youtube channel.
Aug 28, 2013 | Business Opportunity, cards, rubber stamping, specials, TV/Video/Web/Tech
So I thought since it’s still Wednesday here…I would share one of the projects I created for my appearance on the Morning Live TV show. This was a gatefold wedding invitation, with the invitation information printed on Whisper White cardstock and adhered inside the Marina Mist card. On air, we finished the creation of the belly band. This ensemble features the Summer Silhouettes set, one of my new favourites. It takes me back to two step stamping, where two stamps are used to create a single image. The flower stem is one stamp, and the flowers are another. This was what drew me to Stampin’ Up!’s products over 11 years ago – before Stampin’ Up! even came to Canada! (The joys of having American friends, or friends with American addresses!). When the opportunity came to Canada shortly afterwards, you can bet it was a no-brainer for me to become a demonstrator – and I was one of the first ones to do so, and still going strong!
So a couple of reminders, along that line – if you’re interested in becoming a demonstrator, the Pick a Kit promotion is on until August 31st. You only have a few days left! You can get a project kit for free along with the $155 worth of merchandise that you select. See the details here or contact me for more information…or go here to start the online sign up process! My group of demonstrators includes people from all over Ontario and out to British Columbia and we’d love to have you join us.
So…I’ve posted about this almost everywhere else – twitter, facebook…so sharing the joy here as well…after my spot on Morning Live, I ran into Adam van Koeverden, who was on his way in! I am pretty sure I babbled, but managed to get a photo taken with him. It was such a thrill to meet him – after having watched him compete in the Olympics and win medals in kayaking…hoping some of that athletic greatness rubs off on me during my half marathon this weekend!!!
And as I said on my facebook page….kind of glad this happened AFTER my appearance, because I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been all too coherent otherwise LOL!
