Club projects this month featured a technique called "Cracked Glass". We stamped an image, coated the cardstock with versamark and then repeatedly heat embossed with Glassy Glaze, an ultra chunky/thick embossing powder. If your image is small enough, you can melt your powder, then dump more on right away and it will "stick" until you reheat the image and melt the next layer of powder. If you can't manage working at that speed, or if your image is larger, it may be easier to simply allow the cardstock to cool slightly, then re-ink with versamark and re-coat with the Glassy Glaze. As for me, well, if I can skip that extra stage….I will!!

Once your image has a good thick layer (about 3-4 coats), stick it in the freezer where it will curl up slightly. After about 10-15 minutes (minimum), take it out and immediately bend and manipulate (not TOO rough though), and the embossed layer will crackle, giving you the cracked glass effect. If you want it to be even more pronounced, you could gently sponge ink over top to get stuck in the cracks (creamy caramel could give a nice "antiqued" look).
These projects feature the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set – on sale for 15% off but ONLY until the end of September (that would be TUESDAY)! Contact me if you'd like to place your order – or try the online ordering feature at my business website – www.yamstamps.stampinup.net !

(edited to correct the day of the week….it's a Thursday, not a Monday! oops!)
No, I'm not being negative…just reminding you about my upcoming scrapbooking evening – THURSDAY, September 25 at 7pm in Burlington!! Are you like me – lots of photos from the summer and great intentions to scrapbook them….but nothing to show – yet?! For $40 you'll receive the Simply Scrappin' Kit, Pina Colada, and an evening of inspiration & fun – where we'll create a bunch of pages to highlight "What I Did This Summer"! You'll have the remainders of the kit to take home for future projects. I had originally thought to just do a 2 page layout that evening, but then realized that we should fully capitalize on the time – so I'll have prepped a bunch of page layouts & everyone can work away as much….or as little as they feel up to that evening.
Click on the button below to instantly register & pay your fee! Or contact me via phone or email, if you'd prefer. REGISTRATION CUT OFF IS MONDAY, SEPT 15 – you must register by this date to ensure your class kit arrives in time!!

Stampin' Up! is now offering online ordering!!
What does this mean? Easier access for all my Canadian customers, coast to coast! You can shop in the middle of the night….you can shop in your jammies…..you could shop by your Blackberry or iPhone or whatever fancy web browsing phone you have….
What does this NOT mean? It does NOT mean you will be "demonstrator-less"! I will still be included with your order! (wink) – this means if you have any questions or concerns, please contact ME and I will do my best to help you!
How does online ordering work? Go to my business website at http://www.yamstamps.stampinup.net/ and click on shop now at the top right hand side of the page – browse the catalogue and enter the item numbers. This will ensure that you get the listed catalogue price for all items (or applicable sales prices for Stampin' Up! promotions – like the Never Before Seen special). Orders placed online will be shipped directly to your home.
What's the catch? No catch…just another way to offer you access to Stampin' Up!'s great products. I will STILL take orders in person, at classes, events etc. I will also still take orders by phone or email. I will still be doing classes, in home parties and events.
What's the bonus? To celebrate the advent of online ordering, the first TEN people to place an online order will receive a special "thank you" in the mail from me!
Still have a question? Contact me.

(playing with my photo editor…can you tell?! lol)
A recent card, using some of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colours – Pacific Point (the darker blue) and Baja Breeze. The flower from Eastern Blooms was stamped and punched out with the 1-3/8" square punch. An additional flower had the centre punched out with the 1/2" circle punch which was used with the build-a-brad. Scallop edge punch along the bottom of the Pacific Point and sentiment from Sincere Saluations (one of the most functional sets I own – the 8 different greetings cover most occasions).
Quick and easy, inspired by my friend & fellow demo, Alison ( I think it was her at least….)
Oh – and stay tuned for the exciting details – online ordering is coming to my business website (http://www.yamstamps.stampinup.net) verrrrrrry soon!!!

It's that time of year again! (sorry if I sound a little too excited…lol). I personally always liked going back to school to catch up with friends and go shopping for school supplies. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have passed on to the next generation in this household….
First card class of the season is THIS WEDNESDAY at 7 pm. We'll be making a variety of cards to get you feeling creative…Registration required, class is almost full so RSVP ASAP to get a seat! $15 includes all supplies.
New this season – I'm offering a scrapbooking class. I have to admit a bit of a selfish reason for doing this….it's so I can try to catch up on MY scrapbooking!! If you're new to scrapbooking or just looking for some new ideas and layouts, this is for you, too! The first SB class theme will be "What I did this Summer". Cost is $40 and includes a complete Simply Scrappin' kit (we'll be using Pina Colada) and we'll be making a two page layout that evening. You'll have the rest of the kit to take home and use to create more pages! Register by Monday Sept 15th. Class date: Thursday, September 25th, 7-9 pm.
More announcements to come so stay tuned! www.yamstamps.com to keep up to date 🙂
(Oh and working on another video tutorial, hopefully will get it posted by next week!).

Just a post to say thank you to all who managed to make it to my new catalogue open house and retired rubber sale. It was fun! I'm now gearing up for the first stampers and scrappers club of the year – this Wednesday evening. I'm excited to offer the scrapbooking club option as up until now, it's just been cards. If you're interested in joining a future club, please contact me for more information or to get on the list!
I recently (as in just before the open house on Saturday….) put up my decor elements on my main level – a little something to add to an otherwise plain area between my staircase & basement entrace!
I was really pleased with how it turned out, and how easily and quickly it went up. We were able to practice applying these while at convention and I managed to pick up a few tips and tricks as well.
You'll be able to examine my handiwork close up if you attend a future class or club at my home! (hint hint – lol)
