Richmond Hill Scrapfest

Spent a fun couple of days at the Richmond Hill Scrapfest this weekend – thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by our Stampin’ Up! booth to say hi, do a bit of shopping, and participate in our make and take! My downline, Karen and I got to meet a lot of people during that time – it was busy, and I was so thankful that there was a padded floor at this site (so much easier to stand on than plain concrete), though I was still tired out by the end!

Here’s a few shots from the event:

I was pleased with how our booth turned out, because it always feels like you just might be forgetting something…and no, I did not wear flip flops during the Saturday Vendor Market – this was during Friday set up. We did do an exclusive make and take with the croppers on the Friday evening, and had a different one for the Saturday. I hope to get the chance to participate during another crop at some point!

Just a note – if you attended Scrapfest and indicated interest in receiving mailings from me, you should have received a message today – you need to CONFIRM your registration to complete the process (click the link in the email), and you will definitely want to do that…because the Twelve Weeks of Christmas starts THIS WEDNESDAY!! My monthly newsletter will be coming out tomorrow in advance of the Twelve Weeks Mailings – each week, subscribers receive a different holiday project, complete with photo & instructions – and these will NOT be seen anywhere else. You don’t want to miss out!

If you haven’t signed up for my list yet – if you do so before Wednesday at 1pm, you’ll receive all 12 weeks of the Christmas mailings, and if you sign up  before Tuesday at 1pm, you’ll ALSO get my monthly newsletter with projects and information.

Additional Club Time – NEW!

smokey-silver-cardHmmm not sure if I ever shared this photo or not?! This is another one of the projects I created using Flower Patch and Flower Fair Framelits (available as a bundle). I know, you’re thinking “ummmm where are the die cuts??” I used the framelits to die cut post it notes (being sure to have some of the sticky portion on the die cut) to use as masks for the stamping – this way you get the effect that some of the flowers are behind each other… a fantastically easy thing to do that gives such a great effect! Smoky Slate and Encore Silver Metallic ink pair together to give a beautiful monochromatic look. I love this pairing!

This is a card that stamp club members made a few months back as well. I have BIG NEWS if you’ve been wanting to join in Stampers Club and are able to get to Burlington ON! I’ve decided to open an afternoon session for Club members! Club sessions remain on the 3rd Monday of the month, and now members have the option of attending from either 12:30 – 2:30 OR 7-9 pm. This is great if you’re not working on Mondays, have a flexible schedule, or needed a daytime slot because of childcare! New members can start their 6 month membership at any club meeting (well, you have to give me notice and register, but you know what I mean…) Contact me if you’d like more information or want to reserve your spot.

Eighteen Weeks….

star-bundle-cardThis is a card we made at Stampers Club this month, featuring the Bright & Beautiful Stars Bundle that’s part of the Big Shot Bundle special this month. I love how the stamp images coordinate with the framelits so it’s super easy to cut them out (and centre the image perfectly!).

As for the title of this post, yes, frightening but true – 18 weeks today is CHRISTMAS! So yay for Club members who now have one card done for the season 😉  If you are looking to get going on your holiday cards, I have good news!  September brings the first Christmas Stamp a Stack! Sunday, September 14 from 1-4 pm – attendees will make 10 Christmas cards (2 of 5 different designs) – all supplies and envelopes are included.

Registration is now open; space is limited and registration will close September 12th. Click on the link to pay using Paypal.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Ho ho ho!

Afraid of Commitment??

EV005411Have you wondered about Stampers Club? Curious about the great projects we make and the fun we have….but afraid to commit to a whole SIX months?? Well – here’s your chance! For this summer only, you have the opportunity to try out Stampers Club – commitment free! Well, okay, there are a few things you need to commit to, but only once…or twice if you choose. For July and August, there are limited spaces for Stampers Club Without Commitment. Give it a try to see what it’s all about! If you like it – you may want to consider becoming part of the club to get your turn at receiving the Hostess Benefits (read: free merchandise of your choice) once during your six month stay in club – but no pressure to do so. Remember, this is Club Without Commitment 😉  Please note, though, that there are limited spaces for this limited time offer. See the YamStamps Events page for dates; Club is currently the third Monday of each month in Burlington ON. Please contact me to register or if you need more information.

Make Your Own Merry Patterned Paper!

merry-cardWhen we made this card in Stampers Club, some people were looking for the Designer Series Paper to complete this project….but it’s all done with stamps! We stamped the various ornaments from the Stampin’ Up! set Ornament Keepsakes in Smoky Slate (have I mentioned how much I LOOOOOVE this new addition to the SU colour family?), Night of Navy and Always Artichoke. Added the “merry” cut from Brushed Silver Cardstock and tada! I adhered a strip of the Brushed Silver Cardstock to a Big Shot Multi-Purpose Adhesive sheet so after we die cut the word, it adhered easily and neatly to the cardfront.
